I have decided on a Natural finish 1778 LX. It had a beautiful sound...plus some sticker shock. I'll take the plunge next week. Thanks again for all the feedback. Jim

Then have somebody else play them while you listen. Then look at the cost of the Taylor and you'll quickly realize what a great bargin the LX is. More guitar, less money. For what you get, it's dirt cheap.

Here is hoping that Santa Claus is listening and he brings me one down the chimney in December. Happy Thanks Giving to all you guys on the other side of the pond. Piers

I also just checked the UPS tracking and it looks like it will be arriving TOMORROW ! From Connecticut :D :D

Joined: November 2004 Posts: 21 Location: Asheville, NC | The Ovation arrived direct from Connecticut today. It looked and sounded great, then I noticed what appeared to be 4 air bubble holes in the finish. Very small but noticeable once I got past the intial joy of looking at it. They are just below the Bridge and near the middle. So I looked even closer and also found some small scratches on part of the inlay. It became like a tooth with and ache that you cannot keep from putting your tongue in it. All I kept noticing was the small holes in the finish, and the scratches. So after an hour of this I called Massmusic. They apologized, and said that they would be contacting Ovation to send me out another one, plus issuing a call tag for this one to be picked up. They told me Ovation usually really goes over each guitar looking for anything wrong. This one probably just got past quality control. I wouldn't normally be so picky with things, but for the price being paid.... It says alot for the company, when it stands behind it's products like this. Anyway, It is a great sounding work of art and I look forward to it's replacement eagerly. In the meantime I'll have to get acquainted with this one.

Joined: June 2004 Posts: 365 Location: NC | Elite04.....I think I played that same guitar on Patton Ave. I went there due to them being the only dealer around and played a natural LX and I think it was the only one they had for the longest time. Sweeeet! :D We definitely need to get together and talk "O's"!
