Hi, ctnd;

Welcome to the club and congratulations on a great deal on the 6778LX. If a case came with it for that price, you really got a killer deal. That is a great guitar for the money, either way. Enjoy it!

So, are you South Carolina guys happy about Steve Spurrier taking over the Gamecock henhouse?

Are you as bad as me? I usually call people in the middle of the superbowl jus to chat and get yelled at. I ususally have no clue that the "big game" is going on.

Al, you can call me in the middle of the stupid bowl, we won't be watchin it. It's in Jacksonville this year. They have been working themselves into a complete fit over it. I am so glad not to have the gas station anymore, 400 planes in one day, all wanting to leave at the same time.

Try playing a gig in a bar when there's a "Big Game" on the TV! . . . F@%^*%@ ANNOYING!!!!

There was a guy on NPR who's marketing this little keychain remote control - a little bigger than a remote "key" for a car. It's programmed to do only ONE thing - it rapidly goes through all of the know frequencies that'll turn a nearby TV "off"!

Thinkin' about gettin' one for my mic stand . . . drive the bartenders crazy :p

I will give you a call.

The only thing even remotely interesting to me is the half time show. Last year I missed the boob shot this year I hope to totally miss Paul McCartney. he is just too milquetoast for me

Isn't football one of those sports that's just supposed to tide you over until baseball season starts again?

What's McCartney filling-in for Aerosmith this year for the HalfTime LipSynchFest??

I remember one year they had ZZTop . . . they didn't even bother to put dummy "plugs" in the guitars . . . embarrassing.

I thank God that hockey is on strike. if only the rest of the sports world would follow their lead maybe some kids will be forced to read or watch the discovery channel or play an instrument....

ahhhhh ....forget it.

Y'all don't know what it is like to live in Nebraska, where football is a religion. We have huge gatherings for prayer in which at certain times the crowd -- clad in liturgical red - lifts their hands as one toward the heavens. A bowl game, particularly one for the championship, is like the Second Coming.....

But the Real Deal is ACC basketball. My last four years of grad school were at Duke, and I bleed Blue Devil Blue this time of year.

As to the bowl games, a phone call would be a pleasant diversion if I were watching them. Since the Cornhuskers won't be playing one, I am free. :D

Paul,
I was actually in your backyard a few months back with then Aggies really spanked the Cornhuskers hard! The next day it seemed like a funeral around the city. I was surprised the flags weren't at half mast.

What a football state....gotta love it.

Stephen,

There have been numerous such days of mourning this year. At least we made a bunch of people in Boulder happy and stimulated a spike in the sales of Coors and microbrews. And it's less likely that someone will throw a rock through the window of The Big Red Shop in Estes Park, lol.

I've been to Smith's music once (now that I know where it's located) nice store! I've also been to Hames music many times! (alway have to stop in every time I go to & from Charlotte)Huge music store!! Phil's music is where I tried awhile back to get some #2 x 3/8 gold truss rod screws (remember,Cliff?)their main store is located on the other side of the county from where I live but they've just opened up a new (smaller) store close to my house in Greer,S.C.

ctnd you sure do get around from Newberry!! I've seen Glen Campbell twice ('02 & '03) at the Newberry Opera House.....Great venue, not a bad seat in the house!!!

Absolutely, Paul! We can always tell the summer tourists in San Francisco ... they're the ones wearing shorts and flipflops and paying $85 for a sweatshirt.

Fortunately, I live in a beautiful little valley just east of the Bay that enjoys all the benefits of four seasons, without the snow or the humidity.

Welcome ctnd

That 6778 sounds like a great deal.

Love the South, spent three adolescent US Army growing up years in Virginia in the 50's. Gave up football when I moved to Las Cruces from San Diego in 1980. Suddenly found myself with a real life away from the TV, got gigs in bars, had sex with my wife, started companies that failed and succeeded, built various defense sites, learned about the 400 year old Neuvo Mejico history, never missed another WR dancing in the end zone when I had fans dancing in the honky tonk. Life began after the NFL.
