My wife came back from the swap meet yesterday with 2 t shirts for me, the first was "Tools Of The Trade" and had pics on the front and back of a Les Paul and a Strat. The second was "Who Says Men Are Afraid of Commitment", and had guitar gear on the front and back. Again, Gibsons and Fenders.

Why can't Ovation make a t shirt with, say, an old Adamas and a new LX, on it, along with some snappy phrase ("For The Adventurous Side of Life"?) and sell them. Hell, 3 thousand would go to the club alone.

My wife is constantly wondering why Ovation doesn't put out a t shirt like that and a calander (with old and new guitars?).

Is there any interest and how do we get this idea to Rick Hall?

Love both ideas, especially the calendar which is something that I buy every year!

I bought a few real nice tee shirts from a guy on Ebay. THey were advertised as "American Tradition" or "Patriotic Guitar shirt" ?? These are black with a full back pattern that forms an American flag. The flag image is made from Guitar necks & headstocks
And guitar picks placed in the right corner to look like the stars. My Rickenbackers are on there as are of course Gibson, Fender etc. But the bottom neck is the Adamas 1. Nice shirts. Front a has a small logo that has a guitar and the words "American Tradition Guitars" on it. ONly thing I have ever seen with the Adamas 1 guitar on it. think the deal was 3 for $25

Here it is;

It would be nice to have Ovations on shirts. Don't wait for them to come from official channels. The OFC is the best respourse.

Moody, isn't that shirt way too big for you?

I could buy a plank in the (right) Tshirt business!

Woodrow, in my line of work, it doesn't hurt to be 6'3" and 240lbs of blue twisted steel.

Of course, being 5'7" and 280lbs, I make do.

You can take your choice as to which description is correct. I'll answer to either.

Northcountry and Moodypie,

I couldn't stand it, that t-shirt looked good and the seller had one XL left and I snagged it.

Thanks, at least it has an Adamas I neck as you described. Now for an "Ovation-only" Tee! :D

Glad someone liked those shirts other than me. I got three. They are well made and Nothing wrong with the other guitars for sure.

There are so many places now that do Embroidery Work or Screen printing using computers Have your own shirts made! Bring in your guitar and they can photograph it and print from it.

Enjoy

Hey... How about an "offical" Ovation Fan Club T-shirt?

I can do it. We have the equipment here where I work and do our own Tees. I'd be glad to help make it happen. Have to get about 100 to get a really good deal but that doesn't sound too hard.

Can even put a club logo on the front (small) and big Ovation guitar on the back.

Anyone interested?

Don't worry Andy. Actually, when I was starting this thread, I was thinking of something more than the OFC shirt (which I have and love -- any more XXL's Miles?). What I was thinking about was possibly a shirt with a picture of a slothead Adamas and an LX on it -- the old and the new. With some good logo (hey, this board is great at smartass phrases). I'm guessing that we could easily sell 1000 of these things. Hell, I'd buy 3-5 for myself and friends.

Thanks, Paul. I would like to have a shirt like that myself. I'm sure it would get a lot of looks out on the street.

Something to keep in mind.

I see you live right down the road.

Since the current supply of OFC T-Shirts are gone, maybe you could get a dialog going with Miles and work something out.

Andy,Moody.pi,

I like the idea of a Tee with two of the more beautiful Ovation guitars, the Adamas I 12-string "Big Blue" and the LX as you suggest would be my first choice. I'll take 10 as in Ten.

moody.pi,

Could you supply a good digital pic of "Big Blue" and will someone volunteer to do the same for the LX? We can do this ! :)

Moody,George - sorry for the long break. Home now cooking dinner but wanted to check back in.
I have all the resourses to get some cool shirts made. You guys supply the art you want and I'll have it digitally stripped and then it can either be transfered or silk screened. Just need to get an agreement between everyone as to which of the great "O"s to put on them.

Why are the Club shirts out of stock? I know... so hot you can't keep up with the demand!

Sorry, I spaced your question.
I'm in Norwalk. Where the 91 crosses the 605.

Northcountry, Moody, and George,

You guys are quite the salesmen.

Just jumped on Ebay and snagged one of the T-shirts also. Should get it by weeks end.

Andy:

I know Norwalk well. I go to the courthouse and L.A. Recorder's Office there all the time.

These don't have to be pics of our guitars. They can be professional ones that Ovation has done. I just want a t shirt with my favorite guitars on them. If we couldn't sell 500 of them right here on the board for $10-$12 apiece, I'd be really surprised. We're probably going to have to get Ovation's permission to use the pictures of the guitars.

Oh, Yeh. Permission. Copyright infringement, law suits and all that stuff. I don't know Jack when it comes to that.

Help!! Anyone???

I know the courthouse area well. I work about 10 minutes away in Santa Fe Springs. How about lunch some time? Ever been to Goodfellas down the street on Imperal? Best "fast food" around.

I'm sorry but I can't use any of the Ovation trademarks on any of the products in the Ovation Fan Club (tm) Store, and pictures or likeness of the guitars would be just that.

Also, I doubt 500 shirts like that would sell when just 144 fan club shirts didn't sell in over a year.

I will be getting more shirts, but not until early in 2005.
