I have noticed quite a few new members from Countries other than the USA. This Forum is certainly gaining International momentum. :D The Survey: What Country (other than the USA and Texas) are you currently residing in?

But to answer the question..."I Come From The Land of The Ice and Snow, of The Midnight Sun Where The Cold Winds Blow!" Or something like that!! Play On! John L.

We are often invaded by people in big Stetsons riding stolen horses known as Tejanos that we round up and herd down into the interior of our home country, Mexico. We grow chili and pecans, and eat frijoles and burritos and green enchiladas, our flag has a symbol that was stolen from the indians, and most of our ancient buildings were constructed in Spain from adobe and shipped up the Rio Grande on galleons 400 years ago when the Rio Grande was wider and deeper before Tejanos diverted it's flow to Louisiana (a French settlement cursed by God for it's wicked ways). Our government is a relic of the Inquisition esconced in a ramshackle building in Santa Fe that covers a couple of prehistoric acres and is called the Governor's Palace although it is about as much a Palace as an outhouse is a bathroom. People in Santa Fe draw crude drawings on canvas and sell them to the tourists for exorbitant prices, the less they look like actual landscapes the more they sell for. Probably a holdover from the days of dirt streets and bawdy houses on certain blocks that are now known as exclusive neighborhoods even though the bawdy women still reside their and price their homes in the range normally reserved for Malibu even though the closest beach is the dry Rio Grande riverbed most of the year, the only water flow being the effluent from the city's treatment plant that is fed from hundreds of outhouses. The history of our country is made up of many wars, Apache, Comanche, Lincoln County, Spanish Conquest, Spanish Retreat, Tularosa, and Poverty. All the wars were won but the one on Poverty, I fought that one and lost badly as I maintain a Poverty lifestyle in defiance of the Lyndon Johnson Texans who tried to conquer us poverty warriors. Semper Brokius is our motto and we will fight to maintain our poverty until we die, or join Social Security. That's the news from my country. Bailey

The poor bastards would shiver and freeze in the snow and think they had been dumped in a real "snow" storm as they froze their noses sniffing long lines of the blizzardly stuff and wondering when the high would show up. Frozen scraps of rolled up Confederate $100 bills would mark their demise from snorting artic precipitation. Seeing herds of them on their hands and knees snuffeling through a snowy landscape would touch even a Nuevo Mejicano's chili scorched heart, or maybe not.

I usually keep myself read-only, but this time I want to tell you guys that I am very proud of being a member of OFC. Members of this club have high knowledge of Ovation guitars and provide variety of imformation. So I always feel as if I visit "On-Line Ovation Guitars Library" or "Ovation Guitars Clinic" when I visit here. Personally, I own some Adamases and some Elite-models. Yes, I am very much fascinated with Epaulet models. Anyway, I hope I have welcome calls from you guys. Thank you for reading.

It was part of the beginning of some very top notch acoustic guitars, Yamahas, Alvaez Yairis, etc. Scared hell out of some American manufacturers and probably put acoustic guitars back on track here and everywhere. Welcome, enjoy your Ovations, they probably were influenced by Japanese capabilities also. Bailey

Your admirable restraint in not jumping into our musings and conjecture is now evident. Careful, though......"Silence is implied consent". Let us get excited about your collection. Sounds like something my sainted mother nagged me with, "Is your arm broken? You never write!" Anyway, welcome to you, and any other "lurkers" out there. Happy Holidays to everyone!

I read the stats and am constantly amazed by the countries I see on the list. In between spam, adware, virus and general protection faults... It's nice to see the Internet really does work sometimes, the way it was intended. Welcome to all.

Joined: April 2002 Posts: 6 Location: Toyota, Japan | Tony, Bailey, Chris, Miles, and all members, Thank you so much for your warm welcome. I hadn't expected such quick responses, so they were totally big surprises for me. And I realized how enthusiastic you guys were about Ovation guitars. Like some members do, I posted a list of my collection below. I think I almost completed my collection, but still have been looking for one Adamas: 1687-5 (black top, non-cutaway, hopefully made around 1990). Although I've been searching for it for years, it's quite tough to fine one. Umn, I think owners of this model should be proud of having it. Anyway, now knowing some members, I'll post messages more frequently, mainly questions. Enjoy strumming, Kazu
