Yes I'm well aware of the "Mexican" term 12 man. My good Mexican friend Tony Murga, of the boots variety, explained it to me.
Maybe people from the left coast aren't aware that one of the more famous products to come from Boston are baked beans. B&M is the leading brand I recall.
If that comment was offensive to any Hispanics, sorry, not intended that way. If it offended someone's sence of PC, then your PC panties are on too tight, maybe backwards too. Enough politispoo, Back to guitars. |

Watching election returns on CNN last night had to wonder who had the great idea to put the big observation window out onto the Times Square sidewalk right behind the table of speaking hosts. I particularly liked the passer-by plastered up against the window (in full prime time national TV coverage) wearing the T-shirt that said in BIG letters "F**K THIS S**T" That was just way too cool. |

Actually felt sorry for Rathers as the evening progressed. He did not look well. For anyone who takes issue of my comment on Dan R. - seriously, without partisanship, he didn't look or sound good. Just disappointment, maybe. |

fortunately for those not on the East Coast...there were enough local and state issues. Otherwise, the idiots conducting and broadcasting the exit polls could have affected the election...Bush and Kerry supporters believing Kerry was winning critical states such as Florida. As usual, easy to register the younger generation, hard to get them to vote.
The "experts" were sooooooo wrong, as usual. |

OTTAWA (Reuters) - "Kemosabe," the name given to the Lone Ranger by his friend Tonto in the 1950s TV western, is not a racist term, a Canadian court has found.
The ruling was delivered by the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal last week in a case involving a native Canadian woman who complained that the manager of the store where she worked had created a poisoned environment by calling her kemosabe.
The manager of the second-hand sports store, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, argued kemosabe was a term he used to address customers as well as employees.
The court ruling confirmed a earlier decision by a Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission board of inquiry. That decision was made after the board spent a full shift watching "Lone Ranger" reruns.
The board found that at the start of their relationship, Tonto, a native American, had recognized the injured Lone Ranger as the man who had saved his life years before, and started calling him kemosabe.
"When asked what it meant, Tonto responded 'trusty friend,'" the board found. "Both the Lone Ranger and Tonto treat one another with respect...At no time during the episodes is the term kemosabe ever used in a demeaning or derogatory manner." |

As far as political correctness, I've been known to speak before think on occasion. I was leaving Europe last weekend on my way back to the US and some guy in the airport lounge in Frankfurt asked me if I enjoyed my time in Germany. Overtired and cranky from all the travel, I blurted out "The only reason for Germany to exist is to provide Americans with BMW's." Not realizing I was surrounded by plenty of Germans within ear-shot. |

He was driving his plane down the taxi way and ground control came on the radio and chewed him out for making a wrong turn. Told him he was a dumkoff etc, and haven't you ever been to Frankfort before? He replied that he had been there several times back in the 40's but never landed........ |

they asked my brother: "Are you German as we are?"
My brother answered: "No, I am not german.. I am Bavarian"
the same do I.. I am Bavarian.. where the BMW's come from (and a lot of good beer)... but far away from Frankfurt.... ;-) |

What I do is write the post, right click for the pulldown, click 'select all', 'copy' it, open my email & paste it in the message, hit F7 to use spell checker, fix spelling, select all, copy, close email, go back to post, hit delete button to get rid of original & paste. It takes a little screwing around but not too much. I can't spell worth a fcuk either. :)

I was just trying to look up definately to see if it is definately or deffinately. this listing goes from deficient to defog rapidly followed by defoliant. Ah flog it I'll just let it go and claim it's sarcasium. |
