If it is new and they go lower than $1049 it violates MAP and is probably not theirs to begin with! Look at how the other businesses come across on their auctions. This is a high end product on a Rookie formatted site. Not me.

Joined: June 2004 Posts: 580 Location: NW NJ | I sent the dude an email with a bunch of questions. Here's a copy of it: "Questions about your item Dear dpausch743, I have a few questions about your guitar. Is it new and therefore comes with warranty? If not new, how long have you owned it and why are you selling? What is the condition of the guitar -- is there any damage, fret wear, cracks, dents, dings, chips, etc. Is ther anything not mint about the guitar? Do you accept PayPal, checks, credit cards, cashier's checks, money orders? How much are your shipping charges including insurance? Lots of questions, but the answers were not included in your listing." Jerk (editorial comment) Of course he hasn't answered - he probably doesn't know any of the stuff cause the guitar probably doesn't even exist. Sounds like a good way to lose several hundred bux to me. definitely dog crap.

You are right about feedback and history.......however we all begin somewhere on E-Bay which is "0" rating. If one uses a form of payment that is protected then your covered against the fraud aspect. Who really knows? I will contact the winner to see if they received a great guitar and buy!

Yes, I would prefer to see what I'm buying and also support local dealers, etc. But on the other hand, there are some really nice things that I've obtained from ebay that I never ever in a million years could have found locally. It's also allowed me to sell things at may times more than I could have gotten locally. There may be other on-line methods that are lower rick than ebay, but they don't have the massive selection that ebay has. I've had a few disappointing transactions and luckily have not lost more than maybe $500 total on ebay, but by and large I've been very pleased what what ebay has allowed be to do wrt buying and selling guitars. I do try to support the locals when technically and financially possible.

I have done virtually all of my acquisitions, and liquidations, through Ebay. I have generally been pleased with the outcomes, and integrity of the transactions. I agree it is significantly less anxiety-provoking to do business with familiar characters. Towit, I renew my appreciation to that great embodiment of curmudgeonry, the facilitator of mirth and pharmaceutical exploration, from the great state of New Jersey, Our OFC Administrator, Mr. Alexander Pepiak! (huzzah, cheers, and approbation erupt) Hey, Al, get well!

I sh!t you not, I just received the EXACT SAME MESSAGE, word for word, from a zero-feedback seller (fdficker445) regarding a new Peavey Limited VT Quilt Top! Unfortunately, he replied to me the day after the auction ended! And no, I wasn't buying anything new, I was just curious what was going on, as it was a Made in the US Peavey with a $40 start and no reserve. They just don't go for $200 every day, you know?
