I am a long way off to calling what we are doing a band yet but that made me think ??? Duuhhhhh, we do not have a name yet? I'll bet you guy's have some good suggestions and I'll bet you have some bad ones too! Have at it We have nothing in mind yet so anything goes! This could be funny. Randy

My band was "Captain YoYo and the Seadogs"...so I don't think I would be a good source for suggestions.

I've never had a band to name, but I've always thought that if you had a male singer and good song writing....Phil Latio and the Cunning Linguists...no matter how many times I suggest it, nobody ever uses it. =(

I played in a band called "Manny Moonglow and the SROtones". It was the house band for a place called SRO.....

Another thought... used to play some various band competitions (we sucked, but it was a way to get on stage) and the favorite thing to do was go up to the MC right before he introduced you... and say there was a change, the band scheduled band couldn't make it and you're filling in... here's your name (and hand it to him on a small piece of paper, or the back of someone elses biz card).

Of course the name was always some spoof or ripoff. We'd do the some strage name, or just call ourselves "The Rolling Stones". The MC's ALMOST never caught on until they'd gaffed.

A had a friend of mine named "Brad." He had a Contruction Joe-type persona, but very gentle and melodious with his guitar playing. Oh yeah, he played an "O" too! However, his melancholic and almost fragile-like sound did not seem to reflect the band's name. It was called "Big Bald Brad and the Monkey Brains" -- a spoof of Big Head Todd and the Monsters! Go figure ...

No wonder. With a name like that you'd be licked before you started...

How about "Ben Dover and the Rammit Boys"? Probably wouldn't get you a G rating.
Then there's "Circumcised Asparagus", this guy at school wanted that one after he heard Ultimate Spinach.
This is like guit6ar names, so easy to make bad jokes, so hard to come up with a good one.

We had a group in the early 70's called Octavian Breeze....just recently wrote an instramental and named it the same thing....took the liberty using the same name; since I named the group back in the early 70's.

For a duo - Neil and Bob
Solo act - Mike Raphone
Chinese Female Vocalist - Pai Pan
And her cousin - Pei Perplaite
Her brother on Les Paul, imitiating Slash - Won Hung Lo

OK, enough of that, how about groups?

Dick Seacup and the Dispensers
Root Can Ale
Lazy Eights (obviously a jazz thing)
Cleric Apton
The Strolling Rhones
Biscuits and Gravy
Plastic Applicator (punk band, eh?)
Re-Sister and the Varicaps
RF Leakage

Ooh! Maybe this is more appropriate for musicians:

The Deadbeat Dads

Northcountry, what kind of music does your band play? That might help to come up with an appropriate name (if you play gospel, you're probably not interested in names like "Naval Union and the Seamen").

Northcountry: If you're a praise band, you could be called Paul and the Afflictions...

There's a bar in Prineville called the Horseshoe Tavern that has card tables in the back room. They have a sign out front that says-

"Liquor in the front, poker in the rear".

I can only imagine what that refers to. In any case, it gave me the creeps just reading it. Which means it's great. :)
