Off topic but such a beautiful sight - local news covering the arrival of the USS Reagan, 9th of the Nimitz class carriers. Michael is onboard, Nancy will speak at the ceremonies.

San Diego?

Those Carries are magnificent (for a warship that is)... I was on the USS Oriskany CVA 34 ('72-'74) that was Korean War vintage... what a scow! We were constantly jealous of the other boats!

Funny how history can be unkind and unfair. Nixon is still a scumbag and Cliton goes on a book tour and is applauded.

I can NEVER understand the Clinton bashing. He had oral SEX, CRIME OF THE CENTURY

George W. breaks every treaty in the book, drains all our resources, launches a war killing thousands of people because of his personal vendetta, and that's ok.

War and killing : good
Sex : bad
?????????????????????????????????????????

By the way, the #1 Clinton basher from my home state of Illinois was Henry Hyde. Cried "Crime of the Century" until it was discovered that he had and affair with a married woman for 5 years.

Cheated on his wife: that's ok
Had all kinds of sex : that's ok
She cheated on her husband: that's ok

But CLINTON HAD ORAL SEX : CRIME OF THE CENTURY!!!

If the Republicans weren't so busy trying to take power, trying to focus all our resources on Bill and Monica instead of terrorist, we wouldn't have had 9/11. But that's ok with conservatives

But Clinton was the Crime of the Century????

I'm sorry but I've had too many friends loose their sons over this STUPID vendetta of George W's that I don't even want to come here any more.

I hope the All Mighty give Clinton what he has coming????? Clinton didn't launch a war that has killed thousands of people because "he tried to kill my father, so I'm going to get THEM" like George W.

I'm sorry, but after reading all this BS I may never come back here.

Nixon tried to rig an election. Tried to cover up a crime. But he's ok, better than Clinton who had sex??

Reagan, I remeber him. I was laid off, struggling to feed my family and that SOB decided to give the rich a tax break while taxing my meager unemployment. Nice guy. Then he passed the bill removing the laws from saving and loan. The rich then RAPED this country. But that's ok. From what I understand every tax play must pay $1000 a year for the rest of thier live for this on while the rich like George W get to keep the millions they raped from the poor. But at least he didn't have oral sex, the crime of the century. And Iran/Contral. Used the US constitution as toilet paper, had Ollie shed all the evidence, but that's ok. At least he didn't have oral sex.

I'm outta here. I think I'll sell off all my Ovations. I didn't understand the kind of company I was keeping.

Early on when I found this website, I learned that the company we kept was diverse. You just can't take it to heart if someone posts something you disagree with. What we have in common is a love of good music and fine instruments. Other than that, you can't expect people to agree with you all the time.

To try to put everything on an "even keel":

On ABC's "World News Tonight", every Friday they pic a "Person of the Week". This week they picked two brothers Greg & Evan Spiridellis ("JerseyBoys", btw:-) One was a ComputerGeek, the other liked to draw (his father said he'd end up selling VelvetElvises in gas stations).

They moved to California and started this little company in an old warehouse called "JibJab". They produce little animated Internet commercials.

They have a free cartoon on their webpage that's TOTALLY BiPartisan and AbsoFuckinLUTEly HILLARIOUS!!!

http://www.jibjab.com/thisland.html

(the site is very busy and it DOES take a while to "load" . . but be patient . . it's WORTH it!

The file's been "making the rounds", they've been getting so many "hits" that they've had to make several upgrades to their server. On top of that, they've been FLOODED with congratulatory e-mails from around the world. One company wants to archive it with other historic PoliticalCartoons (such as Ben Franklin's).

I am SO happy that these guys got the (albeit brief) national recognition, and I hope it leads to much success to them both as they are two VERY talented guys with a sense of humour the we ALL need right now.

Bradley, I'd dispute and argue almost every point you made. But do you really want this website the end up being a political hotbed? Let's leave that for other sites. Too many good topics here to discuss.

By the way, some of my best friends here and elsewhere are 180 degrees away from me politically. If we discuss politics, we discuss ideas, philosophies, and concepts. We don't get personal. That keeps the discussion thoughtful and the friendships intact.

Man... just when I got rid of my C. Estes Kefauver shirt, that stuff comes back in style.

BTW, it wasn't the sex that was the problem with Clinton. It was the lying about it when being sued by Jennifer Flowers. He lied under oath, and was found guilty of perjury, disbarred, etc etc.

Well, I can honestly see that this is a futile effort, so I'm gonna shut off the PC, leave my office, the RNC, and you girls to have "at" each other . . .

I've got two guitars to re-string and gear to load for my gig tonight . . .

Guitars . . . remember those?"

Politics are divisive and uselessly pits the people against themselves, meanwhile the current president has signed 2 executive orders; the first order(13290)confiscating $3trillion of Iraqi oil into the possesion of the US Treasury, and the second order(13303)granting blanket immunity to any US corporation dealing with Iraqi oil until the year 2007...(funny how the media hypes the fight, but hides the truth.)
