Here are some random thoughts on the show: -Crosby and Stills need to take a few laps around the track. -Nash was barefoot for the entire show. -Personal song favorites: Immigration Man, Treetop Flyer (Stills, Nash), Southern Cross, Guenevere (Crosby, Nash), a Booker T song sung by Stills with Stills on keys and Young on guitar. -Harmonies were surprisingly excellent. -Stills is losing a bit of his voice (although very strong on the Booker T song). -All four changed guitars between every song. -Crosby only played electric on 'Rockin in the Free World' (last song of the night). The rest switched back and forth all night. -Young broke three strings on 'Rockin the Free World'. -Show started at 7:30 and ended at 11:00 with a 30 min break in the middle. -Tshirts were $40 =/-. Overall a great time was had by all.

Glad I saved my $100+ a ticket. Politics I can get on CNN, I pay to go to a concert for artists to play music. Roger

I go to lefty pinko artsy fartsy stuff all the time (as a practical Libertarian I most often get lumped, incorrectly, in with the 'c'onservative lot)I just go knowing what's I'm going to hear. It's like going to the playground, you expect to hear a lot of childrens shrill voices. Deal with it. ('course that's not a problem for me either, since the court order...)

I hated it when Grahm Nash would tell us to save energy and save the whale, while he jetted around in his personal plan. He is a wuss. "Our house with two cats in the yard" is not rock. David Crosby: Hey man, been in any hotels lately with a pound of coke and a gun? Don't preach you crap to me. Other than that, Neil Young is a great talent.

It is the duty of every ARTIST to reflect the times and situations in which they live as a function of their ART. If you don't like it you need to change the colour of your spectacles to "rose" and go listen to your Carpenters albums. I'm sick and tired of the media and politicians preaching their crap. Without the alternative view of artists and other free thinkers, where's the balance? I've alway thought Nash was a lucky guy, not especially talented but in the right place at the right time. Crosby may well be an idiot, a has-been and a junkie. So what? They're only musicians, they can't kill people with a song. Do you think JFK, Nixon, Bush Snr, Gdubbya, Clinton and every other Prez hasn't been closely aquainted with guns, drugs, corruption, and every other vice under the sun? What kind of power do they wield? . Bush-bashing? I'd hope so. Like it or not, most art has a political agenda, if it doesn't it's probably not art, and consequently pretty worthless

They've always done political raps between songs, and have written and played some overtly political songs. That's part of the package when you go to see them. It's what they do; they've always believed that artists have a duty to come out for (or against) causes they believe in. Kinda reminds us old geezers what it used to be like back in the day, when we said what we thought, without worrying about the consequences. They've also made some damned fine music and set a standard for harmony singing. Does the preaching get tiresome? Sometimes it can, but I think you get more music than rant per volume over the course of the night. They are an iconic American rock group, still kicking in their sunset years. This might be (probably is) their last tour, so enjoy. I wish they were coming this way. I'd see 'em in a heartbeat, ranting and all.

I always figured that it's a good time to go for a piss. Leaving the "P" word out of it, I just wish that groups like CSNY would remember why people are going to their shows. They are there to hear music! For the prices that CSNY tickets are going for, I expect to hear the songs that everyone wants to hear, not Neil Young's latest solo album in it's entirety (and I love NY). For me, going to a concert is something that I like to do to forget about everything for a while and just enjoy the music.

Anybody that knows ANYTHING about these guys, goes to a show and thinks they're gonna be "apolitical" (especially in these times)is a f@cking idiot and has no right to complain. Head's Up: Don't go t'see Jackson Browne either.

There's nothing wrong when you know what you're getting when you go to a concert. But there are times when a performer is more interested in getting his/her political point of view across than in entertaining. Last year, there was somebody out here who went on a political rant and people got up and walked out. The next day he was quoted in the paper asking why Orange County couldn't tolerate a little "political discussion"... he never gave a thought to the fact that he was the only person with a microphone, which caused the discussion to become a rant. Al, please note that I didn't comment on politics, per se, at all.....

Okay, he did.) and whatever they do or don't do it's gonna show. But this place is normally about guitars and semi-music related stuff. (there is one chat site I visit that has a "Rants" forum where no one is required to be nice or proper but is fully warned before entering that it's not nice in here...and everyone is pretty nice in the rest of the forum Vallarta Scene ) That said, (and just under the wire perhaps ;) ) being the well balanced Canadian expat that he is, Niel Young has worked on Republican campaigns while feeling free to criticize absolutely anyone.
