Is it me or has this site been chronically slow lately?

I have to fire up a second browser to visit my other sites while I wait for pages to load...and this is most of the time, not just occasionally. It reminds me of the old dial-up days.

It often takes a very long time to load only to end up with the main display blank.

Seems to be a chronic problem. For me about 30% of the time the site is not usable so I go do something else. Maybe that's actually a good thing. Dave

I'm thinking that it might just be quicker (and easier) to just learn how to read/write in French . . .

I think some other site on the same server is bogging things down. I was told they are working on it. I have the same thing. Sometimes I get a timeout, then just click refresh... and poof it's right there.

Wasn't the hosting service changed within the past year or so? It seems I recall going through all this before, changing services and then after that going through a bbs software upgrade. I know we went without the photo gallery for a long time.

The slowness seems to be identical to what we went through with the old service.

Is my memory faulty? (I actually wouldn't doubt it, now what was I saying?)

It's a good thing to know that I'm not alone ... I thought there was something wrong about my DSL line, that I almost called the phone company to &%*#$@ about it.

When I'm caught in a very nasty lag, I end up opening another window, to get pre-occupied with something else ...

Yeah, sometimes this site takes a couple minutes to load for me. I open up another window to go to other stuff while I wait. Which deosn't help it go faster but I get impatient.

I totally agree :D :D
That applied to me years ago when a truck drove on me and when i recovered from disease, but what didn't kill me at that time made me learn to respect others too. I don't want to hurt anybody here, so i shall modify my profile in order to be more neutral. Sorry... ;)

It's is realy painful this morning. You wouldn't think the server would be so slow on a Sat. morning at 8:00 due to traffic.

Maybe we need to put together another Forum where OFC members can go while they are waiting for the OFC Server to respond?

Perfect Bruce.
I put you in charge of developing this site.
what is the URL?
why can't I get there now?
when will it be running?
why are you so slow in making it happen?

Al, You have my number. When you are ready, just call and I will get you set up.

I posted on a previous thread offering my services to identify the causes of the performance issues and take it up with your hosting company. Web hosting is a service oriented market and far from rocket science. The hosting companies not providing adequate service levels loose business to the other companies.

You have a site problem? Don't take it out on me... I have offered to help fix it.
