Did you get that 6 pack of Fosters in aluminum cans that I sent you. I know how much you like that beer. It went out by tramp steamer a few months ago - should be nice and raunchy when it gets to Oz..lol

As for the thread, no big deal as long as people are having fun with it but I can see how it could be kinda irritating - but then there's no need to open it either (the thread not the beer..lol).

I used to think end it but I don't feel that way anymore. Maybe at some point break it so that the first part goes to the archives.....
I mean really, who is ever going to read the whole thing???

There's a "What Are You Listening To thread" which has been going for over a year on a car site that I post on - no one's ever going to read all of it but every now and then it's good for a laugh.

I stopped reading it when people started duplicating previously posted artists and titles...

Where's the challenge in that?

If you can't post a "link" that hasn't already been used, you don't deserve to post...

and if you are posting something already used, obviously, you haven't read the whole thread, so then what's the point anyway

click.

I read through it when it was 2 pages long. It was fun then, but should've ended when it was 3 pages long. It ain't clever. No skill needed. Now people are just using it to artificially inflate their post count.

It was a good idea when it started...if it could be kept original and fresh, thats cool. If folks are genuinely having a good time with it, fine. Personally, I have better things to do: but YMMV...

BTW: anyone heard from Andrea lately? Just wondering...

it'll drop off into the bottomless pit on it's own if nobody uses it. and it is too long for folks to recall if a song has been previously posted, although many songs should be obvious.

un-broccoli heads and un-sleepy heads bother ya' muzz?

Aw... Quit being so Serious! Let it ride into the ten thousands! :D
"Who will ever read the whole thing?"

I don't really read it except when a song title shows-up on the main page that inspires me...
Then I just read enough to make sure I don't post something that someone else had just thought of...

But if it is late at night, and you are real bored, it could be inspiring.
I have gone to the New OFC and watched all one hundred photos on the slide-show go by...
more than once!

.....let it ride...like any other thread, it will serve it's purpose 'til it fades away.....it has had it's moments (for ALL of us), and purpose, and still may serve others ...

Let It Be....what it it may be.

I see your point Muzz but I haven't looked at that thread since it went past two pages. If other members still want to look at it and contribute, fair enough.

There's always threads that spark my interest and always some that don't interest me. So I look at the ones I want to and ignore the rest.

I actually thought it was going to die under its own weight. But it didn't. It's like a zombie.

I brought it back just to be annoying (when you meet me, that will make perfect sense), but I only posted to it once since, and I'm enjoying watching the responses. Notice that Stephen said I should be shot for reviving it, then posted 4 more times, all since my last post in it. He's not alone, so I'm not the one that's not letting it die.

It's kinda like the way people would make fun of our Southern Style threads going so long when we only had 8 people there. Now some of those same people are posting to the Smokies thread the same meaningless stuff.

We like to just engage in senseless banter once in a while. It's fun. I don't think we're inflating our post counts. I think we're having fun messing with each other because we like each other.

As OMA says, quit being so serious. That thread is stupid and people hate it, and other people (or maybe just me) love it because people hate it.

Just letting you know why I might bring it back three months from now. Or a year.

All said with a grin, as is pretty much everything I say.

It reminds me of a game we used to play in inspection. We called it "How 'bout". Someone would name an obscure band, and we'd have to try to think of a song by them. Or we'd mention a "one hit wonder" song, and then try to think of the band that did it. Then, for a while we made top ten lists. "If you were going to be stuck on a desert island, what ten _______'s would you take with you?" Sometimes it would be albums, sometimes books, sometimes movies, you get the idea. It was fun and annoying at the same time, but it kept us from jamming when we were supposed to be inspecting, and we all got to know each other better. As far as this thread goes, I've been having fun using pieces of the previous song to suggest shutting it down, but I really don't care if it keeps going forever. As several of you stated, if you don't like it, don't click on it.

People have mentioned Songs and Bands that I had forgotten completely about...

Not surprisingly, I cannot think of any of them right now either. :p
