Don't know if this helps ya, but the two guitars I recently sent from Florida (eastern US) to Italy took 9 and 14 days.

If it's coming by USPS Global "Priority" US to UK takes 10 to 14 business days, and that's without any hold-ups at customs. Parcelforce will not be able to track it for you until it reaches them and is assigned a UK tracking number. The vendor may be able to provide a reference that will allow you to see current status from the USPS website.

Unfortunately, the USPS does not track overseas bound items once they leave the US. I tried to arrange that with my shipments.. no go.

Lanaki, don't be fooled by the canned messages. By tracking we mean "tracking." While the "highlights" are nice, I recently had a package the "entered the system" 6 weeks later that's still all it said. After a trace it was confirmed that it may have made it to customs. After two months, it was back on my front porch with no explanation. That's not tracking.

However, the USPS is moving (within the next year or so) to a full fledged tracking system. It's in place in some area's already.

I have to thanks Johnny (2ifbyC) for his incredible help in sending my guitar from Florida to Italy. By now I imported 4 guitars from the US. 3 of them arrived in 7/9 days. Last one (GC178LX... I love it...) get here today after 11 days. I should say 11 days 'cause USPS/IPS declare international shipment cleared between 6 and 10 "working" days.
Unfortunately we (who wait) include also the weekend in the calculation.
BTW ALL the guitars arrived safely and undamaged, that is the most important thing by now.
This coming weekend I will post some pics of the new baby.
THANK YOU JOHNNY !!
Riccardo

goimg from new york to australia can take up to 3 weeks. It seems like they put it on a truck, send it to LA, put it on a plane, send it to sydney, put it on atruck and send it to perth.

I'm guessing yours went in the opposite direction. LA to NY, via truck that's 5 days. NY to London by plane 1 day to sort, 1 day to fly, 1 day to sort. Then put on a truck and sent to the land of Notts where it must pass thru the black hole of customs. Don't worry, it'll get there.

There are so many ships coming from China I am pretty sure you could line them all up and put a roadbed on top and save the fuel. There must be a bunch of them doing the return trip empty. Not surprising that shipping from China is so quick.
Once that massive country gets going at full speed, they are going to require so much of the worlds food, fuel, and raw materials it will cause a worldwide crisis.
