Location: brisbane AUSTRALIA | Hey,
Just wondering if anyone can help me, in regards to figureing out what type of guitar I have. The model number on the back of the guitar is 7060222, I'm trying to determine the model and the age of. I don't know much about guitars, but I believe the neck could be an Ovaition neck, but the body looks weird. I'll try and attach some photos, when I work that out.if i dont im happy to e-mail them.thank you |

Welcome. There are a few Aussie "Mates" here that might be able to help you out. 1 I think lives in Brisbane (could be wrong) anyway if you could post pic's or give us a Model # (inside label) someone here could help you. |

Location: brisbane AUSTRALIA | Hey,i just uploaded sum photos.The only numbers on it are on a black plate screwed onto the back of the guitar that says ovation 7060222.Theres abit of a story behind where it came from.it was told to me that a well known artist(i wont say who yet so i dont look silly)had it made as his personal guitar,then something about he was suppose to register it and didn't want to so gave it to a good friend.the good friend gave it to his brother and the brother gave it to me. |

Welcome Donzy. There are 2 regular members in Brisbane and I'm about an hour north.
I've never seen anything like it, but I know NOTHING about Ovation solid bodies. One of the Aussies, AJ, might be able to shed some light on it. Otherwise, we need Beal or Miles to jump in.
Could you post a photo of the part that makes you think it is an Ovation? |

Location: Tennessee | Hey Donzy .. I went and had a look at your pictures. I think whoever put that guitar together just used the neck plate from an Ovation. No other parts on that guitar look to be anything ever produced or seen on the Ovation line. The neck plate looks like it is from a Korean-made Celebrity series hardbody electric guitar from the late '80s or early '90s.
That said, how's the guitar play? It's certainly unique but it looks like it could be fun to mess around on. |

Location: brisbane AUSTRALIA | i dont play,but everyone that has played it says its awesome.they all said the best guitar they've ever played.for such an ugly thing the sound is amaising.that little tone thingy you move to make it sound more acoustic(so ive been told) you can click it 5 times.Apparently its pretty impressive.apparently tim finn made it himself or got it custom built as a personal guitar and there was some drama about registering it so he gave it to my mates brother.i know for a fact that his bro knows tim so i doubt its a yarn.its been sitting in my closet a long,its going to bug me until i find out what it is.if you eva come to oz your welcome to strum a few tunes on it! probley sell it thou. |
