I second that... I want to see all of you guys (and your guitars!) in October.

Stay safe.

I think TJ and Gway are receiving some of Fay's offerings. At least she didn't mature. My best to 'em!

Here in the Tampa Bay area, again we dodge a 'bullet'. We've been so fortunate in the past years!

Thanx for your thoughts!

looks like it's just a heavy shower. The press does get carried away with reporting these things.

I just talked with TJ and all is well. Quite a bit of rain but no damages.

Well, many got lucky when Fay went basically north instead of west where she would have most certainly had time and the environment to 'spin up' in intensity.

On the other hand, some FL east coasters were complaining about not being warned. They WERE warned with the 'cone of uncertainty' and projected wind field. Too many fixate just on the center track line... Oh well...

Later...

Just hope we don`t get too many out in the gulf this season. We don`t need any reason for gas to go up again.

We're getting the back of the storm now which is worse than the front, kind of like Wilma a few years ago. Lots of rain and fairly high winds, but so far in good shape. Still have power and cable, so I'm good! Thanks to all for the concern.

We're getting some rain and wind here in Winter Haven at the moment, but nothing outrageous. Thanks for the well wishes.

BTW Beal's right. Most of the press and emergency people just wait all year for something to happen like this and then really hype it up. I've been here since 1961 (just after Donna came through) and most of these things aren't any worse than some of the storms they have up north as long as the tidal surge isn't corresponding with high tide.

Jim,

Glad you all are safe. You can still send a guitar or two to Beggin and I just in case the next storm is worse. :D

I agree Beal, but those of us that were in "Charlie" 4 yrs ago remember that the last thing the local tv weather guru said was that it wouldn't much of a problem. Then the power went out! I guess it was a roll of the dice with "Fay". :D

Well there always is that chance but as a rule I tend to doubt what they say and look for additional information like what it did before it came to us and all that.

I believe there was a harness attaching him to the kite - I don't think he could have just "let go". If there was a quick release mechanism, perhaps he couldn't get to it once he was being dragged.

Of course that doesn't explain why he was foolish enough to be out there in the first place.

Yeah, but he'll pick up votes for at one point being flat on the ground and not taking the opportunity to let go. That's some real dedication there.

He had to be going, what.... 35 /40 mph when he hit???
