It's near mint.
I say, "near" mint because, I've played it and changed strings several times and put walnut tuner buttons on it.
I have the original gold tuner buttons.
Otherwise, this guitar is as received from the factory.

$3195.00

Great guitar that will only increase in value as time goes on.

Someone will be very happy to get this one!

WOW, you don't see these for sale.

Hope somebody acts quick before Jeff comes to his senses. It's the closest thing you'll ever find to the holy grail of Adamas at 1/4 the price.

Good luck to somebody.

I remember about a year ago, playing guitar at Dave's house, and I kept coming back to his 47 RI, after playing his Martins, Collings, whatever. I kept coming back to the 47....

Earlier these days I thought of selling my #47 as well, with having a very similar guitar in my 1187-7. But then I played it again and - wow, these things are too good to be true.

And for now and then I am sure - the slothead reissues will never leave my house.

This is a great chance for someone to pick up one of the best guitars that are out there.

Best regards,
Kurt

I toyed with the idea of selling my OFC slothead (#3/12) and am glad I didn't. It's not going anywhere.

Kurt, I just looked at the pics Jerome has up of your 1187-7 and have to say that it might be the prettiest of all the Adamii. Just wonderful.

Whoever buys Jeff's 47RI is getting a great guitar. It won't be for sale long. Either somebody will buy it quick or Jeff's concussion will get better and he'll take it off the market....

Moody, thank you, I agree...

...if you agree with me, that the second prettiest one might be Tom's brown 1187 wide neck. Man, I have seen this in person - what a great and beautiful guitar!

Nevertheless, don't care about the colour: The factory did an awsome job with rebuilding these guitars! And it was hard to find and get them - and it won't be easier in the future.

Best regards,
Kurt

Kurt, I agree with how great the factory did recreating these slotheads. As I said, mine's not going anywhere.

You need to put a pic of your 1187-7 on your page with your other guitars.

What difference do you note between your two 1187's? And what strings do you use?

Well, I have to confess - I am a coated guy!

Elixirs, Poly- or Nanoweb. 12's on the -2, 11's on the -7.

So to say, the -7 is my trial and error guitar. I've tried many different strings on her, always came back to the elevens, Elixirs. But it sounded wonderful with Silk and steels, don't know what brand they were, but they wore out to fast.

The -7 and the -2 sound very similar, with the -7 being a little bit louder (with same strings on both guitars) while interestingly more crispy, the -2 perfectly balanced.

Funny, but, with all the guitars I have, I nearly all the time grab one of the two slothead reissues. The 1581 RI sounds fabulous as well, so does the 1687 - but the light weight and feel of the slotheads makes them really special. AND: I love acoustic onlys!

If I need and want something really different, it's my strumming monster, the JC2 D-35.

Best regards,
Kurt

This is a great deal on a great guitar. These are absolutely wonderful guitars that are rare and rarely come up for sale.

Whoever grabs this one will not be disappointed.

When I first saw good closeup pix of one online, I thought it looked gawdy and ugly. The moment I saw one in person, that erroneous notion was set straight. Really beautiful, lightweight and loud.

Can't believe you're wanting to let this go. These are superb guitars. Every on I've played has been stellar. The closest you'll come to an original slothead.

Those pics took my breath away. Unfortunately the bank may take my credit card away if it gets any more use!

These muse be tough times if this is still available. This is one of Ovation's cream of the crop and it's very reasonably priced.
