I'm missing the tuner buttons and related screws/washers on my project Country Artist and apparently regular Schaller buttons won't fit. New Schallers like that are over $100. And the case looks to be nice. So I'd have to bid stupid money to 'not' get my money's worth. Sucks that the flat saddle/pu is missing; I need one for the CA. John B has them at the factory for $80 but someone's probably got three of them in their junk drawer.

It's not OFC policy to restrict, or suggest to restrict, anyone bidding on anything. It's not really fair to the seller. And eventually we'll all end up on the seller side of things someday.

There seems to be finish missing from the low side of the top, near the upper fretboard though, which could indicate neck removal or damage. The only thing I see unacceptable is that it is a shallow bowl.

There might not be anything really wrong with it. My Beater 1612 was sold as 'parts'... I figured if it didn't work I could steal the tuners and have a crappy case. But I added a bit of Loc-Tite and Woody donated a Saddle and 'Viola!' I have a really ugly guitar, but it works. I need to get some proper tools and an ironing-board.

Once I found out that I had outbid a member and might not have bid had I known he was interested. And I don't really know him. So, point is it's a good rule. Hard line to draw.

I know in the past I have backed away from eBay items when another member has expressed REAL interest and even posted my maximum bid here when I became aware that another member was bidding on the same item. Won't do either anymore.

If I post a PSA it usually means that I ain't bidding on it but it looks like a good deal. I would still relent from bidding on something if a friend wanted it more than me. That's what friends do... You can do whatever you think is right. If I bid against a friend it would only cause one of us to pay more than usual. But Yeah, if I was selling I would want as many people fighting over the guitar as possible. :p

Ultimately these are only guitars and other objects. they are not people or body parts or anything else. If you lose one good deal another will be there soon to follow.

I don't knew him as a member here but I also want that guitar. He has one for a lot of money, I've one, too, for more money and I think we both are friends now. That's life. Bernie

I was just relating my personal prerogative on this side of my keyboard. If my consideration of other OFC members is an issue, too bad for those that don't! I have not nor ever will post a collusionary statement. I do feel bad for ksdaddy in that his post was 'bout as innocent as any posted here. All of a sudden, poof, 'pile on'. Go to Scott's SITE and ya'll find a true lover and restorer of stringed instruments; amazing workmanship and talents!
