OK, time for another liquidation. I have about 6 guitars I'm selling this time. Some will garner interest here; some may not:
1. Academy KA-17 w/roswood fretboard, creme top. It's been to an OFC member for adoption, but not sufficiently pristine. $125.00, plus shipping.
2. 1115-1 Another Pacemaker, but this one now has an OP-11 installed. Lots of finish cracks, and a stable crack below the bridge. Action is probably about medium. $225.00, plus shipping.

I will add to the list, later.
Thanks,
Chris

3. Ol' Faithful is leaving- seriously. My 60's neck/ 80's body 1111 (no # extension), now with a 3-band, aftermarket preamp, is up for sale. It plays superbly, but has a peghead repair, and is stable. $100.00, plus shipping.
BTW, no case. It just can't compete with the 1537.
4. CC-059 A/E classical. Got this one, freight-damaged, but otherwise new, repaired the "ow-ee" on the lower bout, and MWoody was good enough to donate an Applause preamp for electronic refurbishment. Nice critter. $250.00, plus shipping. Again, no case.
5. Yamaha FG-75, 3/4-size acoustic. Famed "red label", from the "lawsuit era", I'm told. Essentially, an 000-18 Martin clone. Had to sand down the bridge, to improve the action sufficiently. The neck just wouldn't budge, so I gave up on resetting it. $75.00, plus shipping.
6. Chris "Adjustomatic" parlor-size, narrow-neck, acoustic, 6-string. Phenomenal instrument, given the economy of materials & construction. The kerfing is cardboard, for heaven's sake! Loud voice, for its size, and the action is too-good-to-be-true, with the ability to adjust the neck-set, at will. $50.00, plus shipping.
So, you're all getting a few-days-advance. The FleaBay listings will be about Sunday 06/13/10.

Yep. I still will have the MWoody Limited, the 1537, and Numbie's Blue Academy (KA-17 w/ metal fretboard). Not a bad combo, eh?

Hello,
Does the Yamaha FG-75 say where it was made? And, as long as I'm at it, what condition?

Thanx

"Nippon Gakki"- Japanese, circa 1965-70. Cosmetically, pretty good. I've got more cracks & wrinkles than it does.

Can you post a pic of the Adjustomatic? There was one on ebay a few months back as I recall.

Do you have a pic of your Old faithful 1111? One of my son's friends had his guitar stolen, and I like to help the kid out if I can.

Set to go, Sunday evening, in half-hour staging, at 5:00 PM PDT.
Should be entertaining, fielding all the expected questions & curiosities.
They will run for a week. I don't expect any BIN trigger-pulls, but you never know.

Probably true, Cap'n, but kinda negates the "primary mission" feature. Some Chicago bluesman would really make this critter sing, to be sure!
It is really an ideal instrument for someone with small hands. I really oughta measure the nut, and include that dimension in the auction description.
Thanks!

Ol' Faithful: How did the 60s neck end up on the 80s body? Was it a Frankenstein thing or a Morthership thing? Any idea what year the neck is?

I'll be watching the auctions of course. I kinda dig the whole Jackson-Guldan hootenanny/folk boom crank 'em out for under the Christmas tree thing.

Y'know, I have no idea about Ol' Faithful's "regrafting", cuz I got it after the amalgumation. It is so well done, I thought it was probably done at The MotherShip, and later, the peghead was broken.
Anyrate, it is a fine player, but I simply need to make space. It is my 1st roundback, and spawned my BFLG craziness, thereafter.
The Adjustomatic is truly an amazing instrument. I'll bet the total cost of materials, hypothetically in 1966, was probably about $2.50, including the shipping box. So, $50.00, in 2010? Sounds about par for inflation, eh wot?

I think you're fine price-wise on the Adjusto. There's a couple on ebay right now with $40 and $49 opening bids. The one that was on the a few months back... I think he had some crazy buy it now of $100 or $125 but relisted it at $50 or $75 and it sold.

I can dig the whole amalgamation thing. Somewhere there's an 1132 Matrix neck on a '71 1111 body that's my fault.

And I have a red Applause AA-14 coming in the mail with a missing rosette and guard. It may end up with a shiny new Balladeer style rosette. I almost feel obliged to tape a note inside so someone in 2030 doesn't get confused.

"downright delerious about KA-14s."
Gee, I may have to cut you a deal on the rosewood KA-17. Perhaps, Mr. Numbfingers wouldn't mind if I sent you the Blue Academy, either.
There is a formerly-injured 1115, with a replacement 6-string, slotted peghead, sent-out somewhere in The South, as I recall, the product of the BFLG Lab. Igor still grieves over that loss.

Mr. Numbfingers sez the Academy is yours, send it to Mr. Daddy if he will give it a good home. I always thought it was more gray than blue.

All Academys are welcome in my house. I have two 14's, a blue one which is killer, and a tan one on the bench. The tan's top is distorted but not to the point of being dead. Currently having it's nut trimmed so a human can play it.

So, does the bridge get spayed, also?

I look around the room and I think they're breeding.... wouldn't be so bad if the house got bigger too.

FleaBay auctions begin @ 5:00 PM. I may have an OFC member reservation on Ol'Faithful, already. Most gratifying, really.
Look for "madball1111" That's madball, eleven-eleven, technically.

Interesting. Sold 3 critters, all $100.00-or-under. May say something about my values on guitars, or the state of the market.
I think folks missed some pretty good deals, though. An as-new CC059, with a cosmetic flaw, for $250.00. Oh well...
Had a local offer of $200.00 for the 1115 w/ OP-11. Don't think so, either.
Hell, gimme a week to reconsider. I'm just a bit befuddled, at the moment.
