It pains me to think about this, but I'm going to have to part with my last Ovation beauty in a few days. This is quite saddening...

It pains me to part with my final (and best) Ovation, but my circumstances have forced me to. It's on Ebay now.

Listing Here

I hope the next owner enjoys it as much as I do, this is just tough.

But I did post some pretty cool clips for those that want to hear what a Breadwinner sounds like. The clip links are listed in the auction. Also I beg to differ with whoever, think the electronics are thin sounding and not very versatile, it really is a nice system. Regardless of whether the system was designed over 35 years ago.

But wait, does this mean I can't be a Ovation forumite now?

Once you catch the Ovation bug...
you are one of us!

If your head jerks in the direction of an Ovation shaped guitar and you spot a deacon or epaulets at 150 yards...
you are one of us!

Being an Ovation fan is a lot more than owning an Ovation. Maybe its when they start to own us?

I am sorry that you are having "circumstances". I hope it gets better.

You better put a serious 'Reserve' on that puppy! They are few and far between. Wow, I would never sell that guitar...

I agree with Steve. I know you may need the money, but that one's in danger of selling too low, and you'll kick yourself later.

Preach it Captain, Preach it! The Breadwinner Limited is the nicest of all the original rare Ovation 6-string solid bodies. That particular guitar looks to be in mint condition, and it should sell for as much as an orignal Deacon 12-string. But what do I know, I'm just old Ovation geezer...

Thanks MWoody for the supportive words. That really helped. Thing is, in a year, I'll probably be in a better situation and will get another Ovation in the end.

Steve and Captain, thanks for your concern on losing my shirt. You both make very valid points, but I cannot change the listing since there's already bids. I'd have to pull it to do anything with how the listings set up, so I'll have to let flea bay run it's course.

And any normal situation I wouldn't even think about parting, but with postmortem costs and debts I must.

So, relist it with a serious reserve. Eliminate the bottom feeders, sell it to someone who knows what it's worth and is willing to pay the price. Now, excuse me while I go beat my head against the wall...

With nearly three days left to run, I think you'll be just fine. The bottom feeders are already gone and from here on it'll be the serious bidders. In fact, the serious bidders aren't even in the game yet. The last 5 minutes is when all the action will happen.

Not to worry Ovtions as many of the better guitars do well in the last twenty minutes of an auction.
THis one looks mint. You'll do very well.

Good luck with the rest of your things

These have typically gone for around $1000 - 1200 in the past, especially in excellent shape. You will do fine. The snipes come out late.

It is up to $800 with a little over three hours to go. Too high for me after $600. I bet it does better than $1200.

Thanks OldLiverJones

Well $917 was the winning ticket. Good luck to it's next owner.

Really I thing the market within the last 6 months has been over saturated with Breadwinner Limited's. Just look at all the Limited's that people have been parting with myself included recently. I bet in 2-4 years they will be scarce on the market again, and their price will drive up into the 1500 range again, even more than they were 2-4 years ago.

O well, circumstances didn't let me part with it at the ideal time, but that's fine. I got more than I paid for it.

I think it's still worth every bit of $1200...I would rather have a Breadwinner Limited than a new top-of-the-line USA Strat...

Sorry to dredge up an old post, but I am considering selling a NOS Deacon Limited. What is the current market for a perfect condition grey burst DL? OHSC and case candy included...

This guitar is literally NOS. I have pics if needed.

Thanks in advance!

NOS would indicate you are a dealer and this was new store stock that was never sold.

Is that the case? If so, then the buyer would receive the original warranty which would help with the pricing.

Pics would also help to determine the price.
