Here's photos of the new Adirondack Spruce 2010 Elite.

This is a stunning guitar. The bottom end rumbles your belly when you play. Beautiful inlaid epis, nice grain and fingerprint to the top, 5 piece wood edge binding including maple trim, 5 piece neck of walnut, oak and cherry, contour bowl, cherry fretboard unlays, OP-Pro Studio. Sounds and plays like a dream. At Moody's NAMM party I think this was the only guitar that never got put down.

Well, that's a start. Probably playing tunes only in minor keys or the blues, after yesterday's football game....

Gorgeous Dave. I love all the wood details. Thanks for sharing the pictures and making me drool all over my new shirt!

The guitar plays as beautifully as it looks. I really like the feel of the neck. Non-glossed is the best. ;) The detail work is very nice. The headstock overlay has that whole 1537 style about it ... and that cherry is killer. To me, this is the best Ovation Collector to come around in a long time.

Those look SWEET. If I didn't just take possession of 2 more guitars I'd have to give this serious thought. As it is I have to tread lightly with SWMBO.

I realize this is a new guitar but does anyone have an idea if this guitar sounds significantly different from the 07 Collectors? On the surface, it would seem like they are quite similar.

NON-Glossed?

Dave has a guitar with a non-glossed neck? I can't imagine it will stay that way for long.

It's a walnut neck, just like adamas. No need to gloss it.

the 07 doesn't have treble eppies for starters, and the soundboard is made of different wood. It's a completely different guitar.

Mine arrived the other day but I've been away and it's still warming up in the sealed box.
Looking forward to the first look on Tuesday night.

Does this mean they're not calling them 'Collectors' any more?

Calling them 'Limited Editions' instead.

I am sure this is an excellent guitar, both in quality and playability, but I am personally not impressed with the appearance, compared to other Elites. I like the idea of using all American materials, and I have heard many good things about Adirondac tops. The individual elements look outstanding in and of themselves, but for some reason the overall appearance of the guitar just doesn't impress me. I don't know what it is, I guess that's just the old personal opinion thing. I'm very happy for those who have an appreciation of it though.

I agree. Could pass for any one a dozen different models. Looks just like a regular elite and I hate the gay fig leaf soundholes with a passion. I would have designed it significantly different, but it is what it is. Sounds wonderful. There's uglier guitars that also sound wonderful. The adamas type neck is pretty freaking nice, however.

Is that what they are... People have asked me, but I never had a good answer.
