The hall is very loud and within the Kaman booth they put Ovation and Takamine on either sides of Toca/LP/Gretsch percussion. You get the picture. I'd like to hear your opinion of the SGN series if you get to play one. On the Ovation side (I didn't get any photos) the main display was the DJ Ashba line. Seems this is their main focus market. They also showed a few US models (Sixx bass, Kaki King, ME 12-string and the 2010 Limited). Mick Thompson of SEVEN was there in mask signing autographs. Large display of the off shore Elite T series, Balladeers, Elites, Mando, Uke, Celebrities, etc. Not too much super new, but it was nicely done. Just not my cup of tea.

It felt like the Tak section was smaller, but it had some great guitars there. Hamer was not there. There were a few guitars that I enjoyed seeing at the show. The Guild D55 was really great. The Blackbirds, all graphite guitars were interesting. The guitars that I really like were McPhearsons. Their 6 strings were wonderful and they had a 12 string prototype that was really great. But they start at $5k and go up from there. A bit rich for my blood. Oh, and the Batmobile from the 60's tv show was there.....

On another note...Paul and Adrian's booth WIA Music was nominated in the accessories category for best in show for the innovative wall hangers...really cool product. The awards ceremony is this morning at breakfast so hopefully they will walk away with the honors!

Then we went to our local Hotel bar and started up with beer. I remember asking Paul if he would like some Grand Mariner to which he enthusiastically replied "YES". The bartender poured us each a pathetic portion in a whiskey glass and told us it was $20. I said "YOU GOT TO BE FOOKIN KIDDING ME....$20 FOR THAT LOUSY POUR!" The bartender looked at us and said "Would you like some more then" and Paul replied "FILL EM UP"! so the bartender did.....all the way to the top. I sneered a "What's that gonna cost us" to which the bartender replied...."NOTHING". "THEN BRING US A COUPLE MORE BEERS" says Paul if I remember correctly (we were the only ones still in the bar by this time). I'm looking at the new beers and the big big glass of Grand Mariner and I am thinkin "Ohhhhhh SHIT...this is not good!" but I knew we couldn't let it go to waste. So Paul takes a big sip of the Grand Mariner and says "WOW....this is really tasty (or good or some English expression)...I've never had this before". I say..."ARE YOU KIDDING ME! You have never had it before and when I asked if you wanted some you just automatically said YES like it was a favorite of yours!" Paul says "Nope, never had it before....has a bit of an Orange taste with brandy...is that right"....continuing to sip. "Paul", I say..."This is gonna sneak up on you and take a big bite out of your ass! Tomorrow is gonna be hell"....... I vaguely remember clinking glasses a few times and both of us finishing every drop.....I think. We managed to make it back to our hotel room and that is where this story ends and a new tale called "ADRIAN and the GREAT WHITE WHALE" begins  but I leave that one for Paul or Adrian to tell.......... ;)

Paul is the best drinkin' buddy you could ask for. He had me try some special scotch at Amelia. A really good and interesting taste. And it will, and there is no other way to put it, F. U. up real quick like.

I know, we're just jealous, but I think if I had hair I'd wash it before I did a commercial. I guess those Ovation caps would be good for something other than keeping the flash from bouncing off my dome. And Cliff, I thought he did pretty well and I could actually understand him. Maybe he was still drunk in all the other videos I saw him in.

Brad....I have determined that Paul is a lightweight when it comes to downing the liquor....although I give him credit for gamely manning the booth the next day.
