I was wondering if any of you 1537/1747 owners would be willing to show off some pictures of yours. I just sent mine in to the factory for some work, so I'll have to post later.

What are you having done?

I was a/b'ing my 6 string guitars, and once again, the 1537 just left me smiling. Those are wonderful guitars....

I need to send mine for work also. Can I contact directly to the contact factory email askus@ovationguitars.com or is there a phone number? What are the steps to follow to have this done? Is there a repair department contact person? thanks
Hector

Hector & Vince - I bought a 1537 from MWoody that was in INSANE shape. The guy who did that to ANY guitar, much less a 1537, should be shot. Woody, the OFC community and I sent it back to the factory for a complete re-work and it came back brand new. My pics are pretty lame compared to dweezil's but I'll put this guitar up against any - those guys are THAT good. I play it every day and it just gets better every day. The top has become a little more golden since I took the pics in my ning site but feel free to check 'em out.

I'd post some, but since I don't own one anymore, I'll let the present owners show some off.

Thanks for the pics of MY 1537 Music.

I don't know what all the previous owners were thinking when they passed this one along.....but, as the end recipient, I am very grateful!

What are you having done?
...

I have some dings in the finish along the binding and one noticeable ding in the finish on the top near the bottom edge. There is also a small piece of the epaulet missing. I want to have it refinished and the electronics upgraded to the new two-knobber intrals.

My anxiety with a total refinish is replacing the eppis with new ones. The originals have birdseye maple on them, and I haven't seen any of the reworked ones come back with those same exact eppis. I want it to be as original as possible. If that cannot be done, then I may have to opt with converting it to a -1.

Absolutely Jim: I should have stated it like this: "As one of its former owners, here is Beggins 1537-4: (via WarEagle via me via Vision)...wonderful guitar... "

Sorry: I misstated the facts...

TJR,
What's the plug on the tip of the fretboard on your do? The others don't have it, is it a repair or mod or?

Those are absolutely some of the most gorgeous looking guitars on the planet! The Custom Legends really showcase the abalone, but when it comes to wood ... these definitely have the visual mojo, backed up by a wonderful sound.

Here is the 1547 I recently sold, I miss it already.

Amazing how different it looks in two different lighting situations.

Hopefully one day I'll be able to take great pictures like others do.
