I heard that Willa got a new guitar and was taking pics of it (in between knocking herself senseless, that is).

She'll be posting pics of it soon?

Can't wait!

Willa, please take it slow...you take such good pictures when you're conscious!

(Plus, we REALLY like you!)

As soon as I can see well enough to take proper photos ... that is, if you are referring to this little beauty that sounds so, so very ... sweet. I name all of my guitars, so please let me introduce you all to a sneek peek of "Mitzy":

Ain't she a beauty? These photos don't begin to do her justice.
(Thank you, John!)

Are you sure can see well enough to play with those swollen eyes? I can babysit it for a while if you like. Really, I don't mind at all. ;)

Willa,
What a gorgeous guitar! I can only imagine what she sounds like. No varnish or lacquer in the world can replace the beauty of a guitar top that got it's golden color the hard way. You must be so proud!

Beautiful guitar. Congrats.

Looks like the strings are mismatched. If you want to send it out here, I can put on new ones for you and play it while they stretch out....

Sweet! Do you have a pic of the label?

The reason I ask:

This 'un was given to my local luthier 'cause "It's just an ol' Ovation".

Thanks guys (especially Mitzdawg). I have photos (including beautiful ones that John took) but I can't seem to upload them to my ning page; everytime I try, I.E. shuts down. Iffy, mine does indeed have the label inside ~ #B089; She really is a beauty, and so is yours.

Alan, the MERB is gorgeous, even if I do say so myself (thanks MM), but the glare on it in my photo looks very strange ... think it's that voo doo poltergeist that knocked me down the other night?

Willa,

Nice guitar. Ovation Nylons are the best.

(I'm sure that statement will bring a spirited response). :)

Beautiful guitar Willa... I see you have some pocket watches in the background, as my "handle" indicates I collect and repair old pocket watches. Any good stories behind the ones in the picture?

Hi, Watchme22,

I am relatively certain that one needs pretty good eyes for repairing old pocket watches. Those are just some I've had lying around the house for a couple of years. Nothing valuable ~ they just look kinda cool sitting on my desk. The 1861-5 sitting on the chair next to my desk was first mate the week I took that photo, haha ~ the MERB was standing by in case I felt like pretending I was someone who could actually play a 12'er and sound good doing it.

;)

Um, that is a 1681-5 not an 1861 sitting on the chair next to my desk, ... see what happens when you hit your head? I'm absolutely SHOCKED that no one pointed that out. You guys are slippin' ... (I am SO bad about tranposing the numbers).

I do that all the time. (say 1861 instead of 1681)

That is a really nice git-fiddle.
I gotta try a nylon string one of these days.

Damn! I am a poor relation/member of this board. Willa and so many of you have such fantastic collections of such beautiful guitars. How quickly were these guitars aquired, over what time period? Some day.....some day :)

"How quickly were these guitars aquired"

Willa used to be a normal person and then, one day...

WHAM!

...it hit her!
