If you go to MF.com, the lx elite has an asking price of $1749, and Sweetwater is asking $1999 for this one (the same asking price as a custom elite). I think this one has the adirondack top, correct? (isn't that usually 500-1000 more on just about any guitar?) I like the binding. What are the diamonds on the fingerboard made of? Ovation should have this baby on the site with many details. Looks great! I was hoping the Fender people would step up in the marketing area to support Ovations.

This is the first guitar that Ovation has put out in several years (that's not a custom order) that has really gotten my pulse moving. As a side note on the bracing, everybody here knows that I'm a big A bracing fan. But last year, Bobbo and I compared his 07C with my 87C. His is X braced with a contour bowl, mine is A braced with a deep bowl. There was not as much difference as you would think between the sounds. Bet this new Elite sounds really good with the deep contour bowl. And the adirondack (red) spruce top should give it a crisp sound (the tops of the best Martins are built with this wood). I said earlier that this guitar makes me think of a modern version of the 1537 (which I took out and played last night -- still love that guitar). It's the great top, the walnut fingerboard and binding, the wood heel cap and the wood inlays (cherry). I seriously wish I had the money. If I didn't have good guitars now, this would be the one I'd put on plastic to keep forever (and blow away all the Taylor owners).....

This is a bad time of year to lust for a pricey (for my budget) but I'm lusting anyway dammit! I tried to search for Al's Dec 14th message where he announced 2010 models but came up empty handed? Is there a way to search for "Alpep" messages?

Nice looking guitar, but there's no more room in the man cave for another one and I am pretty happy with what I currently have.(With the exception of a wood top Adamas of course - And we know that aint' happening in the near future)
