| Al, asked and hoped that I wouldn't leave, expressed so, when he spoke to Char, the day after I signed out.
and if I'm a thorn in the side of some here, or am on your ignore list, which is really easy to check and set up in your profile, so be it.
Char and I have just found a wonderful 1920s shotgun house on about 2/3 of an acre, and less than 300 yards from the Indian River lagoon..
still part of "Old Florida" in a nice closely-knit community with a community victory garden.
a very nice grandma and grandpa house, on a shell road.
just had the contracts faxed to us for the lease, and may be purchasing it, when my trust is released to me at age 50, and have already discussed the possibility with the owners and landlords.
again my apologies for my comments, and my thanks for the concern and care that was shown by some.
I'm no crazier than anyone here tho.... and why we keep coming back.
the comments to a lady were uncalled for though.
her decision to join here, and see what was going on, were totally her decision.
but lets not go back to that, please.
it's not what anyone of us is here for, and I will do my best to keep my passions and sometimes mania, to myself.

and at that point I was unsubbed from here, and in bed.
Charlotte the next afternoon even asked while on the phone with him to remove my photos and archives which I can no longer edit, and change my id to something absolutely anonymous so none of the threads would be destroyed.
Charlotte was the one that was kind of astonished at all of the hoopla, and absolute rudeness and crass behaviours exhibited by many here in many posts, and threads and discussed with Al the same thing while she was at our grand-daughters home baby-sitting.
what would some of your spouses think of how she was treated? as new member here? or what's said, or joked about with each other about them?
She absolutely did not do any of that at my behest. and I told her and warned her to just stay away from it,
she moderates many lists and forums, and none of that garbage would have made it to the forum, our chat groups, or freecycle groups, or sites. on a FREE SPEECH site such as where we discuss as the original leaders and builders of Freecyle, which is called FCNEXT and is located on Y! groups.
it does get heated over there,
but maybe if some of you were persecuted and harassed to the point where groups and forums which were totally unrelated to freecycing, and were actually connected to our personal businesses and others personal business,, and I'm not talking about the non-profits here, and are talking about portions of our livelihood and how we pay our bills and support our families.
OT is OT no matter who does it... and most of us men here are guilty of it... it is tolerated, and chuckled about amongst the old timers, sometimes gets a lot thicker or deeper than this one did... but they don't get a vacation, at least not in most cases.
and also that Gentlemen, would speak to a woman or a new member or subscriber that way, a lot assumed it was me, it was not, and I told her to leave it alone, didn't matter. She then registered here, and signed in, and began looking and searching through many of the various threads...
last time that I checked here there were only 2 owners/moderators and facilitators on this board.
questions regarding ids, multiple ids, and aliases, can easily be verified and proven or dis-proven by the moderators of this board as all IP addresses are logged. and we are all probably cookied, and pixeled here as well.. so if there is any doubt about the phone call or supposed aliases, or what the person's actual IP and ID was.. this time or any other, please contact AL or Miles personally.
If any or of you would care to post a poll or vote as to whether I should remain here as a member please do so. and I will abide by the decision of the entire group.
but I don't think that either of you, have the right, or the privilege of telling me or anyone else how they should behave here.
any other member, or old guard, other than Bill, Miles, and Al, those are the only ones here that a "cool it"
from would carry any weight with me or anyone that would Know who BK is.
and most certainly not Mr Witko. he has his galleries, and his forums, and those are his to run as he sees fit.
I am a paying supporter of this site, have been a reliable customer of both AL and Miles, and will continue to purchase from both of them, and play my Ovations and Adamas guitars. many here have purchased guitars from me, and not had a problem with price condition or description, I'll soon be hearing from AJ about the ukxii, and boccy in the UK that bought the classical, there is another member here that got his tail in a twist that life got in the way, and I was not able to complete the transaction in a timely enough manner, and were waiting on our afilliate payments to clear, but he sold the same guitar, just a few days later, to another here... he didn't arrange shipping, had not shipped it to me, and while we had the cash at the time, with my wife being in the hospital, repeatedly recently and long term in-patient every time for at least 11-14 days every couple of months... since mother's day last year when she nearly died in A-fib getting her to the hospital.
so we were not focusing on our sites and businesses, and instead worrying about her life and how she might or might not make it, then the possible cancer scare on top of the heart thing..
both the 1537 and the 1115 came back as stunning guitars. there were questions and changes made, that I was not made aware would happen or be different on the 1537 until it arrived here. black bowl vs brown, no floating fretboard, and my questions on was the top/bowl replacement absolutely the only way it could have been done.
and the restoration/rebuild of the 1115 was not what I originally asked to be done, and WAS done for others, was I out of line for asking for an A brace as was done for Paul? You all here told me how great they were as an A brace,
and I questioned why it was not or could not be done for me, and was told As or a Modified A would fold up on me by Kim.. the cost factor was not an issue... the guitar came back with split and loose bracing and the guitar did come back from the second trip back up, with the braces repaired and re-attached, and the new preamp.
every other guitar I have ever sent up has come back just as beautiful as these two did...I believe now I have had at least 5 done at the factory, maybe 6 one of which only Mr. Smith knows for sure.
Stephen, you told me things were cool with you and me, apparently that is not the case.
Tony, other than me mistaking you in the A brace build I don't believe that I have ever wronged or hurt you in any way.
I had questions, they were asked of John and Kim both, I did get frantic with the whole thing that was going on with our non-profits and .coms, my wife is a sudden death syndrome patient, the kids did die that night several years ago, my mother did just file for bankruptcy, and all of these are a matter of public record... please feel free to look them up.
not that anyone cares at this point, but Yahoo's copyright and trademark team, has stopped deleting groups based on TFNs false infringement claims... and even instructed us original groups that we can again use our original identities as freecycling communities, and use that word in any form now without any worry of reprisal or deletion, or censorship, or slapp suits, or worthless cease and desist letters which were sent via e-mail.
and are now waiting on the TM case to be over, and decided... and then will again modify their policies to reflect the court's decision. whichever way it goes, our hosting companies and zine publishers have agreed to take over the hosting for us should the TM be lost, but is very unlikely at this point that the USPTO will approve it at this point.
I have helped many here, and so have others, I have donated bookoo parts to the entire family here via some, made donations for gifts and surprises, given away guitars to others, and even had one stolen from me that went up for evaluation, and was lied to about what happened after it got to CT by that SOP that was having it looked over as a partial trade against a GC12 reissue that he had in his store in TX..
always send ofc picks along with every guitar that leaves my home, and tell all I can about this great forum that is here.
apparently old wounds never heal.
or while other's can learn or grow, recognize their mistakes, apologize for them, be repentant, pay his debts, and try to make amends any way he could over the years is not enough.
so that's all I have to say.. I'm glad Randy is happy, I'll keep the ones I have now, and if I choose to buy another new Adamas or Ovation, it will be from Alpep
that's all I as a man can do.

Don't expect everyone to be "cool" with you right off the bat. When you burn a bridge it takes a while build a new one.
And I don't think we are gonna vote on anything, Glen. That's the type of drama you would want to avoid... I hope.
The day we have a poll to see if a member stays or goes is the day I'm forced sell all five of my Ovations and buy one middle of the road, glass of warm milk Taylor. |

Dave has given you a couple paragraphs of good advice and I second them.

| cool as a cucumber here Brad, and other than redundantly repeating at this point... every word was carefully chosen.
If it's ST DW TC BC and the other click! masters that we should all bend to kiss their feet and marvel at.... and they as similar members here, just with higher post counts, lower member numbers, and bigger wallets and more wall space..
feel they decide how Miles' and Al's group and public service that they provide for us is run or moderated, or even how a thread should run..no matter what turn, with insults and cannibalism included...
or to disparage or insult a woman, new member, and wife of a member, no matter what member.
and when that same member has been told by both admittedly wronged individuals all is well.... and yet the continues from them..
and when payments have been made at the level to be included as a site supporter and contributor and that doesn't happen my or my wife's name do not appear as supporters here, or our names listed among the other brothers and sisters, and when a timely payment is made for a gift, actually within hours of the request to help, and then to come back several weeks later to remind me to make payment as promised... an oversight I know, and understand as it came from webmaster@thefreebiecafe.com, so the member receiving the funds didn't recognize it, but I believe conclusions were jumped to, and the "he's at it again" got whispered around, along with the I told you so's.....
it's been a long time since all of that was supposedly cleared up. debts and balances owed paid, the guitars in question restored or re-sold, and the individuals I hurt then told me all was well.
it really doesn't seem so.... and sometimes really hurts to be treated this way. a lot.
I sincerely thank all who have prayed, wished us well, and my wife a speedy recovery, as well as all offers of substantial loans recently which I have declined. some of which were offered by very new and recent members here. to help me help my mother out of a jam, and maybe so I didn't have to sell them all off.... but with the things in the past as they are, and my doing all I could, and making restitution to them, along with apologies, and to still dive on me at what chance they see, and then the little sharks that have no idea what they're being retaliatory or vicious for, and just playing follow the leader, to fit in, dive in with their shots and nips and bites is WRONG.

I'm sure that most of us sympathize with your situation. But I'm afraid that the solution to your Yahoo issues is probably not going to be found on this forum.
What exactly is it that you are asking the membership of the OFC to do for you? We are all brothers. None bigger, none better, none more priviledged than the rest. Is there something I personally can do for you? I can write a letter to Yahoo if you think that will help.
What I can not control is your reaction and opinion to me personally. If my post count or my photo galleries upset you, I don't know what to do about that. Should I re-register every month to keep my count down? Should I take down the photosites because they upset you?
You keep making reference to terrible things that myself and other have written about you. I don't get it. I re-read the posts and I don't see it. Have you read them? I called you a "raving lunatic" and an "attention whore". Is that what's upset you? I can not find a single reference to ever calling Char anything at all. I tried to show some concern and I tried to offer some advice and I got slapped for it by the both of you. OK, my inputs were not requested so I should have never gone there. Fair enough.
If there is something specific that you are asking me to do, please let me know.

Frankly, I do not support our administrators allowing this to continue. Al and Miles control this forum although it is like herding cats.
You attacked the Service staff at Kaman yet your posts last year, as well as the before/after pictures, praised their efforts. Attack me but I will support and defend Kim and John (and the unknow guys and gals) supporting us.
You rambled on over the last several days to defame individuals and companies on an international forum.
After you had tested our patience, your wife jumps on with accusatory statements.
For me, "click" doesn't express my concerns. You come back on with an "apology" and then go back on the attack.
For the record, I feel the responses were appropriate. I read the posts to my wife who agreed with me that the posts by you and your wife were inappropriate, defamatory, and destructive to the forum.
If this keeps up, # 7 OFC guitar will be up for sale and I will spend my time at the Tak forum. At least those members appear to behave themselves. |
