A little early to think of these but what do you have in mind?
Mine is that I'm not going to buy any guitars in 2010. I may sell, and the only buying exception could be the mandola that I ordered a month ago but that may not come till 2011.

And you?

Hey!
That's the same one I used in '07, '08, and '09.

Mine is to spend more time practicing and to actually start recording the tunes I have written.
I got the gear and most of the talent (and friends to provide what I lack). I just need to dedicate the time and get it done.

I've got 2 dvds on the Christmas list: Pete Huttlinger's Jim Croce vol. 2 and Phil Mickelson't Secrets of the Short Game. That will take care of the New Year's Resolutions. The default is always to learn Castles in the Air.

Get my neck fixed; spend much more time in the studio; write more songs...

As for buying or not buying guitars...well, I don't have a very good track record of not buying so.....

To drop of these grand kids with their parents and take my wife on a nice beachfront vacation.

By March this will have been 2 years of round-the-clock childcare for our deployed kids.

Ah yes, a vacation. After three and a half years with no vacation and never more than one day off a week (except in summer when I get NO days off a week), I vow to take at least three days in a row off! Sometime...maybe...

To Ali out of her shop for a whole day while I'm out there.... :D ;)

Really...to learn to be content with what I have, and not to be concerned about what I don't--because even though by some U.S. standards I don't have much, I have a lot more than so many other folks.

Write & record some originals. Become a better guitar player.
NO BUYING GUITARS IN 2010! (That's a direct order).

Now that I have acquired (not arrived, yet) an MWoody Original, learn a fit-for-hearing rendition of "Black Sugar", or some other arcane, glory-days, mood-altered crap.
And, get at least half of my vinyl digitally recorded to CDs.

Laugh more. Love more. Live more.

This leaves the door open to do a lot of things to make sure I keep my resolution. Like maybe buy more guitars. Or get a triple bypass ... at the heart attack grill. Or spend time beachside with my girl. And see a lot more shows. Or ... just be content and spend my time and energy with those things I already have.

Oh, yeah ... I wanna learn to play some songs fingerstyle.

Not to make resolutions I don't have a chance of keeping...

But failing at that, to work on my fingerstyle, get some more recording done, and spend more time at the coast.

Into my 5th day of some kind of selfmade up diet. Plan to continue it until further notice. Also I want to record a cd with my friend Dick. It will be called "Weeping, Moaning, Dying Songs, LIVE!

As long as you've paid for it, it's a 2009 purchase.
