...pat myself on the back a bit. yesterday was my final final for this college semester. and what a brutal semester it was! biology, biology lab, microbiology, microbiology lab and algebra. my professors have all posted the final grades. i'm stoked to report 4 A's in the sciences and a B in algebra.

sorry for the OT but i just hadta tell somebody and my wife's at work. the stress has been nearly overwhelming, especially for a 53 year old.
several times this semester i found myself singin' the ol' herman's hermits tune, "don't know much about biology..."

Good Job and congrats Randy. I waited until I retired from the Marines before I went to college and got my degree (while holding down a full-time job and raising 4 teenagers) Now take some time and sit down and play guitar.

Excellent Randy! In one sense, it's extremely difficult with everything else going on in your life... on the other hand, if you're like me, you're so much more focused then when you were a teenager. I completed my MBA a few years ago while working. I wish I had that same drive and determination when I went to college the first time.

I'm impressed. Math and science were never my strong points.

But I did OK in school in some subjects: Straight A\'s

Fantastic achievement though. Keep it up! Now have a nice winter break!

From someone with a degree in biology and marine science, just let me say I know EXACTLY how relieved you feel. I'd also like to say that I wish I had been able to study where you did. ;)

Congrats on a job well done!

Odd how that works. I didn't have a hope in hell of getting into med school because I was weak in math and science but I pretty much breezed through law school.

hey! thanks, everybody. the support here is very tangible.

only thing is, there's no break for me. the 4-hour NLN (national league for nursing) exam is on january 8th. so, i will be exhausting myself in preparation for it.

one of these days, i'll sit down and play guitar again... :)

Way to go Randy ! Now relax, unwind, and play us one of those wonderful slack key songs in celebration of your accomplishment. You have plenty of time till the NLN exam on the 8th. Study hard bro, if you work like you play guitar we'll be calling you "Dr Lanaki" in no time! Congrats, Dave

Nice work, Randy. Get the final out of the way and then take a few days to enjoy your accomplishment. Congrats.

Yeah Randy! So proud of you, but to be honest, I expected as much. Anyone who has the dedication to learn to play guitar as well as you do can focus that dedication on anything, even math! Hope you can take a few minutes for yourself, keeping in mind that to come as far as you already have, you know the material already. You'll do fine.
