That said, I have been there and understand that sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do... Folks, this is a great guitar: and truly beautiful...it is worth every penny Paul is asking and someone is going to get a fantastic guitar...If I didn't have other pressing issues, I would be on this... All the best!

Also, well worth it. I was given the opportunity by a friend to obtain one. It wasn't a purchase, it was a transfer of custody to care for and play a rare instrument. We really haven't had much discussion of the original slotheads, 47 RI, and the OFC I lately. Many of the newer members have never had an opportunity to play these wonderful instruments. If you can, get to a regional get-together of OFC'ers and you may have the opportunity to drool while playing one. The archives are filled with the frustration and effort by Al over a number of years to have the OFC I built. The anquish that a few of us went through waiting for our guitar. The absolute joy when it arrived. It was not only a remarkable instrument, it was our affirmation of support for the Ovation Fan Club. As such, it is a very special guitar. I have to admit that at one time, I considered selling the OFC I #7 as I have #3 of the 47RI and #50 of the original pre-production. Glad I didn't as the OFC I gets more play than either of the other two slotheads. This might not be the time for many of our members but if it is, consider it...you may not have a chance in the future. It is very rare that an Adamas slothead becomes available.

I was a late entry into the club and lucky to have had the opportunity to get the last of the 12, although mine is 11. I''ll never forget the excitement of seeing the arrival of a guitar that is far better than I deserve. Mine doesn't get played as much as it should, but I hope I never have to get rid of it. I'll probably never spend more money on a guitar, but it was worth it. I'm sorry for Paul's misfortune.

I never got the chance to play one of the originals, but they can't be that much better. If you missed the reissue run of #47, didn't get one of the twelve OFC Is in the first place and did not custom order one - grab this one here quick. It's all you could ever wish in a guitar. I have two of these - and I won't let any of them go. Never. Best luck with the sale, Kurt

I love the details on these (and the originals and #47 reissues), such as the back of the headstock being curved. I've played the original #45 and it's a wonderful guitar - there is a photo of a clandestine meeting between AJ and Paul handing over guitars in a darkened parking lot. Whoever snaffles it will get a great deal.

Whoever buys this guitar will be breathing rarified air ... I've played many guitar costing multiples of this one that are nowhere near the sound, feel and uniqueness of the OFC guitar. I sure hope this gets picked up by someone here instead of it winding up in a collection overseas.

I can't let this chance go by, because I thought it will be the only one I will have in my life... It's #10. Well, the one which was owned by Karl.... Whenever he wants to play it, he knows where it is. They are sounding really........ yes I could not find the word in my limited stock of words, but the bottom end is spectacular and the highs are ringing like a bell. I've had posted some pics on my ning page which is now shout down, but I will go on vacation in a few days. Then I will upload the pics to the Albums here... Very proud Bernie!!!

You'd probably get the money faster by selling a number of cheaper guitars - even better if they are things that you could replace if/when the finances improve. OFC 1s don't come along very often. Do you have a kidney you don't need? Edited by TAFKAR 2012-08-16 11:52 PM
