Well, I've found a new toy. I was looking for one of those for a really long time and when one appeared here or on ebay, they were eypensive. Now I found one for a decent price......

It's an UTE !!!

Sold in Italy. It was offered with express delivery, so I hope it will show up pretty soon. Pics will follow when it is here.

"UTE" is a slang term for the U681T model Adamas made as a limited edition in 2005. Great guitar. Al had 6 12 strings made of the same basic specs.
I think Todd's reference was a quote from My Cousin Vinni, which I think is one of the most accurate movies made about the American legal system. Joe Pesci's Jersey accent was the subject of that quote. Sometimes we forget that everyone reading this is not familiar with American "culture".

It was short for "Uterus". (The U681T nickname, not the Pesci quote)

Now he's probably even more confused. I doubt there is any rational explanation for how Jeff came up with Uterus as a nickname for the U681T, but his wit was over my head. (That doesn't take much. Friday someone said that a lawyer grew taller after taking Viagra and I didn't get it for a few seconds.)
It is correct that My Cousin Vinni had nothing to do with guitars, but the quote, "Did you say yoots?" came from that movie. Pesci was talking about two youths.

correct......anyone wanting to learn more about how it came about can use the seldom used search function and have some fun.

Yeah, I should have got that, but it's been so long since anyone tried to be funny here that I missed it and it went right over my head.

Maybe we feel we just can't compete with you, Bob. When Jeff and Cliff were on, the cheap shots and one liners flew on a regular basis. Occasionally, they were subtle and some of us didn't understand, but often they were in your face. Acronyms and nicknames were also common. The line was crossed at times, but mostly in good fun.
I'm often slow on the uptake, especially with puns, but I got Todd's right away. It's also one of my favorite movies, one of only a handful that I've seen more than once.

I just did and you were right. I picked out a few, including one in April of 2005. I was wrong about who coined the term. It was actually schroeder, another of those OFCers that I need to meet. No offense to those I have met. I reread every post in "My Ute has arrived", after realizing that it was about my first Adamas. Lots of changes since then.

Even funnier in Germany since "Ute" is a woman's name in the old world. I'm still looking for my third Ute, til then i have to go with my six and my twelve string.

So Al, when's the next factory tour?
(That was the cheap shot. Someone else will have to do the big laugh part).
