Is anyone at the show to report on Ovation? I was hoping that with the Anniversary models out they would now be presenting a few regular NH production models.

Yeah... I need a Hunters' Orange guitar!
Keep you from losing it in the woods.
Or a cluttered bedroom.

I'll be darned!

They have many models that have the entire guitar painted like the Red Flames, ALL the way around!!! Even the one with the Pinstriping and distressed background in an All Over paint job!!! Arthur, your Orange one is a Full Cover too!!!

I see a 6/12 sting double-header too!! And I really like the simplicity of the 4 Elite hole minus the epi's, very elegant, and non-distracting from the face.

And you can easily see the difference between the Applause and the Ovations by the headstocks too!! Nice!!

http://www.guitar-bass.net/news/summer-namm-2016-ovation-debuts-its...

Oooooooh Myyyyyy, I would love to see all of these in person!!! (drooling uncontrollably)!

WOW! WOW! WOW! Thanks PEZ and Nancy for posting these pics! This is really exciting and GAS inducing at its most ludicrous hyper maximum level. Oh no, I think I'm melting...I think I'm mellllll....

Now, this pic's got me thinking (and Nancy mentioned it on PEZ's FB post too)...

new os

The truss-rod cover, the 12 fret inlay? Hmmm....50th Anniversary? Custom Shop (New Mothership offering?)? What is it? Whatever it is, I love the way DW is breathing new life into the product line! Gotta hand it to X-raiderman! Just some really creative stuff...I really like what they did with the Applause line too. Great product differentiation and distinction. Can't wait to see some of this stuff in our local stores here in Japan! C'mon Kanda-Shokai!

I like it too. I wish they did it with a maple fretboard to make it look like a popsicle stick.

I think favorite trend with the newer Ovations is the matching bowls. I'm hoping Connecticut follows suit. Bowls often seem so separate, and some models are so elegant that the black textured bowl seems out of place. Yes, I'm a shiny bowl fan.

Those are nice and all that. I'm wondering when we'll see folks taking delivery of their pre-ordered 50th Anniversary guitars.

Did you get to order one Dan? (I hope so!!)

Quite a few folks have gotten theirs already, I believe FlySig is waiting for his, but Beal, ElginAcres, Stuart, Sammy Ash, and myself have gotten ours, and the pictures that Mario posted from his Factory Tour showed many that looked ready to go to their new homes.

I am wondering how the Custom Graphics are being handled. I know that DW has at least one Hellacious Artist at their Drum Factory in CA, and I saw the USA Elite at the Hartford Factory, that was made for the President of DW, so I don't know if CA is handling the Graphics, and sending to CT to put together, or if they have an airbrush Artist there in CT (which makes more sense). Whoever it is has allot of Talent, and I would LOVE a custom Full Covered piece!! Although how you would choose what to have done is beyond me, too many options, and patterns!! . Anyone that goes to the Back to the 50's, and Vintage Car Shows has seen the Art of airbrushing explode with new techniques and Artists, some of the Art on those cars is absolutely Incredible! Why not our Guitars too?

I'm interested in a new Custom Legend. What's your opinion of the C2079AX series (C2079AX-5, C2079AXP-KOA, etc)? I still can't believe my eyes when I saw that price...

Well, I can't seem to get past the slot head, 12 fret in the first frame. I suppose that's a 50th Anniversary Folklore. Be still my heart. I will say too that the creamsickle orange and the white one are both incredible looking. OK, OK, I can dream can't I? I must say, I love the direction Ovation is trying to take now. I believe they are needed in the market, not to mention how much we all love them!
