Nope. The bodies are composite and noticeably lighter than the mahogany vipers. | ||

Ovation has made several attempts to reissue the 1627, first as a 40th anniversary model in '06, then the LTD version, then the Vintage lyracord version (which are still being sold as FRG's) and now this one. Plus I'm sure there will be a "tribute" model after he passes. Bottom line is that these were great guitars and groundbreaking in their day. Unfortunately that day was 45 years ago. | ||
