In late 2014 I traded a 2004 30th Custom Legend that had sat on a music store wall for almost 10 years, purchased by a good friend just to hold it until he could find it a home. Sold it a year ago. The guitar i traded for it, I bought new in 2006, a 1773LX custom. The next new guitar I got was one of the 12 original OFC slotheads. It's gone also. Before that, in 1996 I bought my 1994 Adamas I 12 string. Still have it. Before that I've got to go back to 1979.

It's in great condition with no cracks (finish or wood). Only a few minor dings in the binding. I use it more than any of my other guitars.

Ovations lead me saying that I didn't own any cutaway acoustics at the moment. No cutaways leads to an invite to his house after the party. Invite leads to him handing me a fingerprinted, dusty 2000 1771-2. Handing leads to "Now you do." For free. For free leads to bringing it home and cleaning it up. Cleaning leads to absolutely pristine condition 1771-2 now hanging in my studio. So there.

Yes, the C2007 is a nice one, but my friend Dieter's is sounding better than mine although mine was played a lot more. Dieter's is like a new one.... Bernie

Had to do a little top heat treatment and brace reinforcement to reduce the top sinking, but that is done. I also got some NOS tuning machines to replace the originals from Al Pep for it. I will do a re-fret soon, and need to repair a few finish cracks - still think I got a good deal. A couple of years ago I got a 1991 1763 classical from Elderly Instruments to have a classical with a cutaway that I could used both acoustically and amplified. That is in my regular practice rotation. Meanwhile, I am getting into the later stages of a total rebuild of a 1974 1617-1 that I bought "as is" from Elderly 20 years ago. I am replacing the top and neck, reinforced the bowl, and will be using a Baggs LB6x pickup with a Baggs preamp. That will probably take another couple of months to complete -- I should post a bit in the BFLG on that project soon.

Not sure if this is aimed at me, Paul... the old 12'er is in great sounding/playability shape. Just needs a little facelift. Got that wonderful jangibility of an original O. Pics when she gets home.

Although it supposedly sat unplayed from 1976 until I played it, I have to assume it was at least strummed over all those years, so it's technically used. The stencil is faded, but it's otherwise in new condition. RIP Nancy. You're a sweetheart.
