I'm clearing out some old guitars to buy a mandocello. But I can't find a reliable price guide. My ebayUK login won't let me search completed deals on ebayUSA.
The only current one is going for $2400 (mint but used) when a new one lists at $2599. Does this mean that because they are a special order there is no discounting of new ones? What price do they normally go for used?

That might be a good guess.
Maybe keep an eye out for something over here?

Interesting using octive strings. I'll have to try that. When I get back to Florida. Always leaving the wrong things behind!

Half year ago I bought mine for 900 Euro on German ebay. It's from 1995 but in mint condition.

Hmmm now what combinations of strings would we use to get that string set Bill? Ideas on guages?

If you go with octave strings, what would make it appreciably different than a 12 string in alt tuning/ partial capo?

Recut the nut and make it a Bouzouki. Tune the lower two as octaves and the upper 2 in unison.

IMO, makes for a much more versatile and fun instrument.

Damn you learn something new everyday. All these years I thought that stickng up your middle finger meant ... ah, never mind. I guess I was wrong.

I propose we ditch the "blues name" BS and we all take on gang names. I'll go first. From now on please refer to me only as "T-Dog"

Dave ... ooops, I mean ... T-Dog

Come on guys.....that's the sign used by Ronnie James Dio for years......the "ROCK ON" or "I AM A HEAVY METAL ROCK GOD" sign that he is credited with inventing.
