Damon, how about the names of a couple of recommended hotels? Making reservations now. A friend offered to let me stay on his boat in Lake Union, but must have decided that wouldn't be a good idea since he won't be there until the next week.

Well, I suppose it depends on if you need to be walking distance close, and your budget. Here's a map, the house is a half block off Main and Bellevue Way (Old Bellevue on the map). All the hotels shown here are literally a couple minutes walk. Downtown Seattle is just 15 minutes as well, so the options are endless if you're good with driving.

Here's a link to the general area from HOTELS.COM Everything above The Woodmark Hotel is pretty much walkable, though Coast Hotel is on the other side of the freeway.

Mark in Boise - 2015-06-10 7:02 AM I forgot you were such a wine snob. I was going to use the polite word, but couldn't spell it.

A lawyer that can't spell 'connoisseur'???

Question: Not that I'm attending, being a hard-boiled east coaster, but where do you buy the "ganja" in Bellevue? (not that I partake - in all honesty it's been years).

Now that I think about it - it does sound a fun trip - if I leave now I can make by Sunday morning - Do you accept Cedar Topped Balladeer Specials made for Guitar Center?

Thanks for the hotels, Damon. I wasn't planning on being good with driving. SWMBO must have found the same ones, because she said all the close ones were $200 and up.

Lawyers in Australia can spell? Aussies are smarter. They probably keep out most of the lawyers by making them pass a spelling test.

My parents said that.
They said that it just made them sleepy and hungry.
(I told them that that's what it is supposed to do)

Road trip in an old mini-van!! SWMBO asks, "is somebody really driving up from Colorado for this?" She's just jealous that she has to work. Mark in Colorado refused my offer to leave the guitars here and catch a ride in the Porsche. He has his priorities. Come on, Alison, there's still room. You can ride shotgun if you want.

As you are already on an odyssee ... if you swing up North a bit further into the Canadian prairies I'd be happy to take a few days off work and come along too.

Mark, nobody's said anything about Sunday only. I just have the doors open if anyone wants to come by before taking the ride back to wherever, and I'm gonna need to feed this belly, so everyone is welcome to feast prior to departure.

Unfortunately, with Bobbo's delay there will be no OSH in attendance that I know of. I was really looking forward to that or an OFC1 to goof around with too.

It's still a month off, who knows who or what will end up here. Regardless, it'll be great seeing friends and making new ones.

Damon,
I thought you or Miles had his OFC. If you want to compare my OFC with Mark's original Slothead, I'll throw the OFC in his van, assuming he brings his slothead. There will probably be enough room to bring the #47RI, too, if someone wants to try one of those and I'm still thinking that no one up there has played a 2011 2078ALE yet.
I didn't see much sense in hauling up the same model of guitars that other people are bringing or that Damon already has.

Mark, I don't think any of those will be here. Miles swapped his OFC 1 for a 2. He does crazy things like that. I pulled up an ancient archive and saw one of those "what will you never get rid of" topics and saw him comment on how he'd have to pick either the Jim Messina Deacon, or the Wood Topped UKII...

Things change

I'll bring the OFC 1, then. It has new strings. The ball ends of the D'Addarios I had on it kept snapping off. Suppose Woody would install the brass nut on my UK 2 if I brought it? I might just bring my Viper so you can take pictures of it, if you could hide all the flaws.
We might end up with a pretty full van.

I will bring 3 - I think all are pretty unique...a custom EA- 63, A WT12er....I've never seen another...tho there may be one..and #43...I will see if any other Colorado surprises make it....and before the jokes start...it will not be something related to gonja.

BTW...I am in the market for another Beater...a friend has permanently borrowed Lazarus...must be: nylon string...deep bowl...not fussy on neck width...not fussy on electronics or not...don't care or not if it is a cutaway...just gotta hold tune....\and be in good enough condition to not leak when I use it for an oil pan when I change the oil in the 65 Mustang.
