Thanks, Dave. That thread's always good for a laugh.
Good trolls who don't know when to give up are hard to find.

Couldn't find the original string tube thread, but Hal's response to trying them was priceless...

originally posted by Hal Jordan
that is the stuff..i ordered it as you suggested and FINALLY FINALLY i have heard what my 1778LX sounds like WITH ACTUAL FRESH STRINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks dave, i was seriously contemplating offing this guitar and never looking back to ovations. the added crispness in sound and feel now assures that i'll have it for "ever".
any doubters out there who think their strings are "new" when restringing the pinless should try the aformentioned tubes while stringing.
thanks dave!

Sorry, Crusty. That probably shouldn't have been posted at all. That was a response to a thorough thrashing I took on the golf course followed by a couple of severely strong beverages. You just never know what you're going to get after a day like that. Apologies to anyone who found that out of line.

And lukewarm Coke? That's just wrong, man.

Oh puhleeeeze, girls! Can we get back to just arguing about the correct string gauge for fingerpicking and complaining about the quality control on Daves stringtubes(tm)(pat.pend.)?

Let this die, ignore it. Walk away.

Looks like Heather may have turned out to be a fly by. No sign of her today? They come and shoot their whole load in one day and then disappear. In one day alone she managed to inform us that she looks great in a bathing suit (her opinion), she's an accomplished professional musician (aren't we all), the mis-interpretation of her post was due to computer errors at Rhapsody (sure), she knows Hal Jordan (no surprise there), and eggs on the boys with inuendo's about her 48dd tits without ever mentioning her other body dimensions or weight. It's a common rookie mistake. They fail to realize that we do this ALL day, EVERY day, for YEARS and YEARS. But we're not pathetic.

Hey Guys..........I'm Back....No those pictures are not Jordan Rivers on the 6th or 7th page.It may be another Jordan Rivers.I'm sure there's tons of people with the same name.
Also I didn't hear that Jordan Rivers even has a web site.I know his music is on the radio from time to time. That's all.And he does concerts.
Can't tell you more than that. But keep searching.Maybe you'll find him.
One point to make..the real Jordan Rivers looks like Ricky Nelson if you remember him.Same type face and build.
C ya Heather

Oh so some of you boys don't think I know about guitars and strings and ect.......ok....best strings are these for acoustic guitar.....my favorite on an ovation for over all balance and play is......Drum roll.......DDDDDDDDDDDrum...........Bam !!..........D'Addario EXP13 Custom light ...string size .011 .015 .022 .032 .042 .052.
These stings are great for recording and last a lot longer than other strings and stay in tune better. For electric I like D'Addario chrome 11's.
They last and are great for jazz and hard rock and anything in between. Those are my picks.Next picks would be Martin strings and then Adamas........

Wow, can't believe I missed all of this...Guess I've been busy...with playing my guitars and raising my kids...but after they were asleep, I had a few to check out some of the threads here, and well goodness sakes...after the first several pages I was going to make a comment about popcorn but then I saw Wabbits post and nearly lost it: just too funny. But now that the fun's over, I can go back to practicing and maybe even get some sleep between infant feedings...This had American Idol beat by a mile...

Remember the words of Ester Johnson...remember what she said upon arrival at LAX?...."If you cna fly this plane 600 miles an hour in the dark and find Los Angeles; you can find my bags"....

Mike, I missed it too. I never really cared about what this guy sounded like in the first place, so I never bothered looking, but I saw GWAY today and he said I should check out this post. You guys (and gal) have got me laughing so hard, I have tears running down my cheeks. I almost spit coffee on the keyboard. This good! :D

Ah Heather. Glad you stopped back. In a really twisted way, you're fun to read. Tupperware? Oh, that's just a tongue in cheek reference to what our guitars are called. You know, a plastic bowl with a top that kind of snaps on. No need to send the swimsuit picture. If your measurements are really 48-24-36 then I've already seen you.

We can't talk about whether or not singer-songwriters should address politics with their music, but the repeated references ot the physical attributes (real or imagined) of a pos(t)er are on topic?

On the other hand:
