Appreciate your hair while you have it. I made great use of mine by letting it cover my eyes in law school so the profs thought I was reading. Thank God I'm not doing tax work anymore.

I wanted to add how much I liked the LYRIC content of the songs: Steve's Dave's Mike W's Beal's Scott's and Brad's. Really an adventure. Good work. Also I must say that Country Artist really shines "Makada"! way to go. And Lanaki's second tune is also way up there on my playlist.

The other day I had the phrase "And the wind blows down the line..." stuck in my head. And I enjoyed it.

I have to credit most of the lyrics in my song to my wonderful wife Lia.

Ocean Street is a true story, based in Belmar NJ. I had to adapt a few lyrics to make them fit.

The name of the street in reality is "Ocean Avenue". I lived at 1401. And Hot Dog Harry is the wagon that used to set up on the corner and sell Sabretts to the passers-by. The logo on his cart said "Harry's Dog Wagon" and his logo was a long haired wiener-dog. You got a dog and a coke (in a glass bottle) for 50 cents. "Beachcomber Way" is made up, but The Beachcomber was the name of a bar on the corner of 18th Ave. The arcade is of course "Belmar Playland". "GSP" and "Jug Handle" are are self-explanatory. If you gotta ask, you've never been to Jersey.

If you've been to the Beachcomber, then chances are good you've also been to DJ's.

Ya know Cliff, we're the same age and I'll bet there's a damn good chance you are I were in those places at the same time. How strange is THAT! And Al's got some stories of trips to Belmar around that same time. Wouldn't that be stranger than hell if somehow we actually did all come in contact and never knew it until 35 years later ...

I was thinking the same thing.

I looked quite different back then . . . I had long hair.

I may be alone here, but Stephen's vocal style (plus the guitar) reminded me a bit of the unplugged Alice In Chains. (The late Layne Staley was an awesome, bluesy presence so this is meant as a compliment!)

I probably did too, but I don't recall. :)

Once we were old enough to drive, there were a lot of trips to the shore, from Pt. Pleasant all the way down Long Beach Island. After the Prom it was expected that you'd go to the beach. We went to Island Beach State Park after senior prom and got my '73 Corolla stuck in the sand. During the college days we'd go down and rent rooms at some old lady's boarding house and hit the bars. That was back when the drinking age was 18 or 19. Ahh, the good old days!

. . . and you didn't go "to the Beach".

You went "Down the Shore".

Note to self ....

Next summer let's organize a Jeresy OFC gathering "Down the Shore". That would be very cool. There's quite a lot of people within commuting distance.

GoodIdea.

We can put together a "core" group of 3-4 couples & rent a beach-house somewhere on LBI for a week . . .
. . have the rest commute-in for the weekend . . .

You can count me and my girls in for sure! We always go to Stone Harbor on the first Saturday of August for the week. So we expect to be there again next summer durng that time, but I'd make a special trip some other time if there is enough warning to bid vacation.

Sounds good to me! I'm probably one of the closer ones... I can help out with arrangements.

We can get some of these southern boys up north for once.
