Alison, haven't you tried the newer Ovation cases? Lovely SOFT handles.

I picked one up and I had to have it, so I took it. Thanks Flacky. :D

Alison, that's an interesting comment about the soft leather handle.

To me, those always make the handle seem cheap and flimsy.
This seems cheap and flimsy!

Don't the red bandannas work better because they're stronger?

They're OK, but make sure to keep your guitar case out of South Central LA.

I like the new softer handles on the new 9158 cases a lot.

Aren't those bandanas made in a third world country under oppressive working conditions?

OMA I'm appalled.

And I think the red ones are made by disabled orphans.

Beal, how could you?

Now to bring this topic further off topic, did y'all notice that Jordan/Donna/RW Wiliams has dipped his/her thick-skinned finger back in the OFC pot?

I'm not allowed to tell him/her to f@ck off coz I'm banned from posting in the 'welcome' forum. (as are most of us) (But RW Williams isn't?)

I know we have many praise and worship musicians here. Can you play this guitar at a service knowing the way it was built?
Bingo!!

I bought a very early one several years ago...#7 if I recall...lousy is the word that comes to mind as far as the fit and finish...I sent it right back...I had not seen the video until Al posted it...why am I not surprised...the carving is the only part of the guitar that is remotely cool...that said, in a world of fine guitars, IMHO, these should have been left on the beach...in the surf...at high tide...just my $.02
BTW, these are made in Bali and imported, strung, and shipped from Canada...

Uh, I answer questions on the Welcome page.
I believe that you cannot/shouldn't start a thread there.
So please feel free to be helpful to noobies with questions.

slowly, lol)
I'm guessing that "deuce" = "two" = "Number twos" which means its the other option from wee wees. It doesn't translate well into Australian either. Over here it would be "Strangled a darkie", "dropped a bomb", "cracked a turd", or anyone of about 100 charming expressions.
Strangled a darkie?

I love this forum!
For sale, huh?
Did I mention that I bought another LX? :)

Nope...

In BOLD RED writing at the top;

"This part of the Bulletin Board is open to posting for New Members and Moderators ONLY."

Check the last word - it's in CAPITALS, so we can hear it clearly.

And the latter paragraph - still in red, but not bold (and no shouting) is a further polite request;

"While the general membership can post in this thread due to software limitations, they are encouraged NOT to."

What Miles is saying there is that he is unable to lock the general membership out of that section due to software limitations, but if he could, he would. So he's requesting that unless you're a moderator, keep your comments out of there.

I know that a number of members question WHY the Welome Center is there and how its supposed to prevent another meltdown, but the owners of the site want it so.

So be it.

FWIW, I also slip under the radar occasionally and pop in there to offer assistance and outing trolls. I know its naughty, but I'm a helpful, naughty 50 year old kid.

If I popped in there and told Mr Williams/Mr Rivers/Ms Heather to f@ck off, I don't think I'd be under the radar any more...

Yeah, it seemed pretty clear that the regulars weren't welcome there.
So I never go there anymore.

I believe the purpose of the Welcome Center is for new members to post and for one of the mini mods to make sure they are legit before allowing them to enter the main room. Sort of like screening people at your front door to make sure they don't track dog crap into your house.

So far I would say the system seems to be working well. With the exception of Willams and Avatar everyone seems to be playing very nice and the forum has definatey turned into a kinder gentler home for the new demographic that the owners want to attract.

And then the song;

(A)I stepped in dog shit and got it on your floor
And that's the reason you don't (E)love me anymore(A)
It's just a small spot and a little on the rug
But that's the reason you don't (E)want to kiss and hug(A)

(D)It ain't my fault Babe, don't blame it on me
(A)It's your dog and you let it just run free
(D)I walk to your house every single night
(E)It's not my fault your yard don't have a light

(A)Your lawyer called and they want to send the cops
Unless I pay you both (E)everything I got(A)
What's going on here, whatchew trying to do?
You hang with lawyers you're gonna (E)get it on your shoes(A)

(D)So go on now leave me here along
(A)Don't try calling I won't answer the phone
(D)I've had enough of all your screaming fits
(E)And your damn lawyer and your dog and all his shit

Did you write that, Beal? If so, can I borrow it for the next bar convention? Oh, and will you write one about judges?

Yes, I wrote that. The topic that night was "something you did you wish you hadn't"

In the middle I take a break that starts in A, then G, B, F, C, D, E and back to the top and the third verse.

Nice Beal.
My new year's resolution was to start writing songs, so I wrote one. After a week I looked at it and hated it, so now I have to start over again. Damn.

I really like the song, Beal. My thought on the judge song would be some takeoff of the lawyer joke:
Q. "What do you call a lawyer with an IQ of 40?"
A. "Your Honor." I might get in trouble for that one, though.
I found some lyrics of a song I started a long time ago and they weren't too bad, but I never wrote anything down regarding a melody. This weekend my brother showed me a whole notebook of songs he started writing when he was in a band in the 80s. He did manage to finish one for his wedding. I noticed that the last song I learned in my notebook was one I learned for our wedding. Must be some correlation there.

Although this line..."And your damn lawyer and your dog and all his shit"
you could reverse to "And your dog and your damn lawyer and all his shit" when you play it when Mark is around.
