rookie rule # 1

don't forget to change out your battery before you leave for the gathering . GWB

Does that mean using a new, real battery?
And not the same Chinese rechargeable batteries that I bought in 2008?

Thanks for that reminder. I haven't plugged in any of the acoustics for so long all the batteries are probably dead. I just need to practice. Playing a lot of golf hasn't been helping the golf game any, so I may as well play guitar.

BTW...I am in the market for another Beater...a friend has permanently borrowed Lazarus...must be: nylon string...deep bowl...not fussy on neck width...not fussy on electronics or not...don't care or not if it is a cutaway...just gotta hold tune....\and be in good enough condition to not leak when I use it for an oil pan when I change the oil in the 65 Mustang.

LMBO!!!!!!! Another new use for the vintage collector - Guitar AND Car! LOL!!!!

Don't be so sure. I didn't play the '87 plugged in for nearly 2 years. Started playing it again and the battery that was in it is still going strong.
I'm starting to think the op-24's actually charge the battery.

It's an irreplaceable guitar, why chance batteries corroding or becoming unstable.

Change 'em!

The upstairs deck is ready....

I was hoping to see the Fremont freakshow and the Ovation freaks too, but have to be down in Orange County instead. Have fun!

Anyone bringing a Ute or want me to bring mine? Elginacres is back in the US and we'll ride share from Boise on Friday. See you sometime Friday evening to drop off guitars and I'll go visit my daughter and come back on Saturday.
Miles, do you suppose you have any little Ovation labels from one of the old amps. My Li'l Dude is missing one.

I guess that means the passenger needs to stay awake, too. I'll make coffee Friday morning and will drink it all if you don't. You know the side effect of that. I used to have a great travel bladder, but my doctor said that wasn't good for my kidney stones and I didn't think I wanted surgery again. I've got Damon's address in my phone and sort of remember how to get there.

SWMBO: "What time does it start on Saturday?"
Me: "I don't know."
SWMBO: "What are you supposed to bring?"
Me: "Guitars."
SWMBO: "I mean food."
Me: "I don't know."
SWMBO: "Why don't you ask Damon?"
Me: "He probably doesn't know either."
Daughter: "What time do I take you over there?"
Me: "This is a guy thing. We don't plan. We talk about guitars."
So, Damon, let us know if we should bring anything besides guitars.

You forgot:
SWMBO: Who all's gonna be there?
Me: No idea
SWMBO: What time does it end?
Me: No idea
SWMBO: Are you going to get drunk and act stupid?
Me: For sure
SWMBO: Are there gonna be any women there?
Me: (Oouu...hadn't thought of that) No idea
SWMBO: Well, if there are, leave them alone
Me: (fat chance) Of course, dear

My wife doesn't ask those kind of questions. After 38 years married she either: (a) trusts me; (b) knows I'm harmless; or (c) doesn't care. She's actually been to one of these gatherings and probably assumes they are all pretty tame, or to her, boring. She hasn't met Phil.

Miles, If you can remember to bring some parts for this (or anybody else) that would be great...

Hey! I'm house broken!
(Or a home wrecker....it's the selective hearing thing..)

Bringing five got stands, only need two.

My wife always come to these things. If only to identify the body, should the need arise.

....try posting link via iPad...

At the last gathering Lady Stonebobbo attended, she drank Beal's pink, ate T28's popcorn, and passed out on the couch. She had a great time.

If you show before noon, bring bloody mary fixins.
If you show after noon, bring beer or whatever you wanna drink (there's really no need to bring red)
If you show up after 3pm, bring something a little harder

We're still figuring out food, but I don't expect anyone to bring that sorta stuff.

Sara will be glad to know it's not going to be a total sausage fest.

What NOT to bring: Taylors, Fenders, banjo players

Oh well, in that case I guess you better count DaveKell out. Then again, is anyone driving a motor home there?

Funny, I've always called my wife's all girl get togethers "clam bakes", but I think that's an old line.

Change of clothes.

Another change of clothes.

Clothes that don't show stains and spills.

Don't forget to tip the host.

And, just for the record, Woody always introduces himself as me to the newcomers.
Watch out for that. ....and don't pull the finger.
