Looks like a blast, just too far away from the East Coast for me to attend. Damon, if you are still coming over this way, give me a heads up!

I'll be out that way xmas week. A reason to break away from the in-law family would be welcomed.

It's great to see OFC gatherings happening again! This looks like it was a hell of a good time!

Mike,
I lost my shop, technically had to consolidate it into the garage, when we moved. Basements are great, but hard to find around here. Not that I did much work in it, but it was nice to have the shop right next to the guitar room in the basement and the storage room for cases right next to that.

Where do you build your boat if you don't have a basement?

I think it was my wife's grandfather who built a boat in his basement and then couldn't get it up the stairs, so he dug down from the outside and knocked out a wall. I put together a desk in a basement once that the movers couldn't get out when we moved. I built an exercise machine in our last house that stayed in the basement when we moved. I built two storage sheds to get some of the stuff out of the garage and made some space in the attic for my guitar cases. I can't even get around to changing the nut on the UKII, much less build a boat.

I've done boatbuilding in really odd places over the years. The usual like garage of course, then others like barn, boathouse, shed, outside, in the water, under water, on the beach then into the more advanced places like, in cars, bathrooms, travel trailers, houses, under trees, in trees etc...... There were reasons at the time but boatbuilding, like anything to do with guitars, doesn't need good ones.

My first 'real' job was working for a boat builder.

Cav, here's the Wylie Wabbit I was talking about...

LOL... I had no idea (obviously) that the video was on. I started re-stringing the OFC-2 and a few minutes later there was a band around me. LOL...

What a neat minisled. I sailed a ultralight about that size for a long time because it was so handy camp cruising through tight spots. Wylie went on to bigger, even faster things. I like the big tri now for the longer legs and better rough water sailing, it is also nice to be able to stand up in the cabin.

I think we're going to have to lift our game at the next Aussie OFC gathering we have. We didn't even play a whole lot of anything much last year.

Now, the next questions from inquiring minds: who's who and what were they playing?

I know EXACTLY what happens when there's an Aussie at a Gathering... at least I think I remember... it's all a bit hazy

Aside from Miles restringing a guitar, left to right:

Cavalier (Chris) on fire with his fiddle
Derrick "Buddha", non OFC, but bought his B768 from LostArtVintage
Michael is selfie takin' one sitting down, just a local musical friend, non-OFC, playin a 1615-1
-J- on his 2778LX (he's anti-internet, but still an O fan)
Nick, my son is on the skins

One more video...

Chasen Chantz had a show to play, but stopped in for a quick minute before heading to it.

He's playing #43 instead of his usual red flame T. Local friends Gary showed up to play some keys, and Abdul sat back on the drums. I'd spilled wine all over my OFC shirt, so I moved on to Peavey... and was playing my Odyssey as well. Buddha's on a Magnum IV

Sara only took 2 videos, both when i was playing. There were other folks up playing, I swear. I wish we had some Miles footage.

Yeah, Miles was actually playing some stuff I recognized instead of that Dave Mathews' stuff you youngsters were playing.

Just realized... we were having so much fun, so many people coming and going... so many spontaneous jams and conversations breaking out.. that we forgot to take a group photo...
