The deep should have more bass at least. I already have all of the 30th Anniversary Ovations I can justify, but these should be on a par with the others, which were excellent.

The 5-piece mahogany/maple neck has a resin-impreganted Walnut fretboard, and Original Adamas II Design Maple fret inlays. The Adamas 1581 sports Ovation’s Original Patented pickup and Stereo FET preamp. The Mid-Depth bowl blends elements of Ovation’s Super-Shallow and Deep Bowl designs. Acoustically, the Mid-Depth bowl delivers impressive projection and rich tone, yet even smaller guitarists find it comfortable to hold and play. It’s no surprise Ovation’s LX, AX, and TX models all feature a Mid-Depth body: Its proprietary Lyrachord construction and roundback design let it outperform typical “box” guitars. For decades, hardworking musicians have relied on Mid-Depth Ovation guitars to cut through the mix, whether played acoustically in a living room or run through a concert hall sound system. Designed to reduce hum and line noise, the Stereo FET preamp delivers stunning stereo output, and waist-mounted individual volume and tone controls are quick and easy to adjust while performing. A contemporary version of the electronics that launched the Adamas acoustic/electric line in 1979, the Stereo FET preamp is an Ovation classic. if interested please contact me

Sounds like a winning situation to me.

Now, having said that, I'm glad I've got 2 2 knobber guitars with the modern electronics in them (OFC slothead and 1537) as I do think they are cool and the electronics in them are really all I need for my limited plugged in playing.....

Since then, I've seen new models with double epaulets. Is it possible that only the anniversary editions were single epaulet?

Joined: September 2005 Posts: 3619 Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | what color are these? My blue one is my favorite Adamas (I even like it better than my 08 Collectors!) This is an incredible guitar, and if you were EVER thinking of getting a textured-top Adamas, this is your chance to have one of the best for the price of a used one! Do what you must, but grab one of these guitars! I have never heard a guitar that puts out as strong of a bottom end as this guitar.
