Hey guy's, it's late, at least out east. How about giving it a rest. This isn't going anywhere. Best let it drop.

Good night.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, had to go to church this evening, played my Collings dreadnaught on the mountain top (OK have at that one too, I know I should have used the 84! What was I thinking?)
If I had ya'll wouldn't have had such a good time though.
As I recall it, but I could be wrong.
1. Linda never came to the factory (she might have on the week I went to shcool that year)
2. She did order two guitars for Paul, or maybe it was just one and then added the other later(a 6 and 12)
3. The scroll design was Rickard's
4. I don't think that what Paul got was any different from regular production at the time.
5. Paul is not a guitar guy, never has been so thousands have not passed into his hands. He just doesn't care about the hardware, it's what it does that's important to him.

In a very nice email to me Big O says that the company should have better info on their web pages about the history. I agree.

Now I'm off to bed.

With inflation, it's now my $.05......

BigO, you can try and squash me. Lord knows, in my line of work a number have tried...

But if you just mean give me a bad time, well, hell man, how could I respect anybody who didn't give me shit? Even my wife and kids do that....

Noah's right. Time to get some sleep.

p.s. BigO, did you find that tv show on Jay Leno?

Heck, made for an interesting Sunday afternoon and evening...

Ovation and Adamas has such a wonderful history of instruments and performers that is not reflected in the "timeline".

As this started concerning the 30 Anniv CL, this guitar is the finest blending of the three decades and present - a Custom Legend that respects the past yet is the ultimate Custom Legend. The factory did a great job. Thank you.

I'd suspect that Ovation "glances over" the whole Paul/CL-thing because there was an agreement that Ovation could use Paul's "image" with the guitar, but couldn't (legally) use him as actual "endorsee" (do I have that right, Bill?).

I've been tempted to chime-in on how much of a total ASS someone's been during this whole exchange, but due to the fact that he's gone and conveniently deleted his initial insipid posts, I suspect he already knows it . . .

Although I've always been a PITA who's record of unintentional damage to my own reputation has occasionally reached epic proportion, I did rather enjoy watching someone else do it.

Can we do it again?? PLEASE...??? :D

Big O, don't leave.......

Everyone gets trashed eventually.

One our our newest members Nick really got blasted because of an article he wrote, and now he is a beloved member of the OFC flock!

I would agree, BO. Stay, meet the members and THEN determine if it's not the place for you. If you're looking to discuss guitars in general and specifically Ovations from a lot of pretty darn smart people, you will find no better place than here. But be prepared to witness incessant razzing no matter who you are. It's all meant to be in good fun.

WOW, that'll be the last time I go away for a long weekend. Looks like I missed some fun on the 'ol OFC board. Please don't tell me Moody had his gasoline penis out again.

Early on I used to make an ass out of myself around here and take some shit. The only difference some 3000 and something times later is that I still do it but people don't care anymore. Life is good.

I hated the CL when it came out in '74. I thought it was an insult to the Legend. Then when Mac played one I was really disappointed because real Beatles don't play plastic guitars. Then I bought an '83 CL and fell in love with it because it was so beautiful, Now I own an '05 CLLXCB and it's one of the best damn sounding guitars I own. Go figure.

So you're a slow learner, Dave. You're in good company. :D

BIGo, don't give up so easily. This is a very forgiving bunch.

Most of the regulars are PITAs, at least some of the time. Some are all of the time. It just takes awhile to figure it out, but in the meantime there is a lot of information here. Sometimes too much.
Most of us get slapped when we ask a simple question when a decent search would have brought up a recent thread. You just can't take it too seriously.

Sam, I don't have a hast like that. I don't want a hat like that. Do they let you wear hats like that in Atlanta? They don't in Florida. Have you decided to come to the Sluthead reunion yet? We can each get hats like that and Cliff will take pictures and photoshop in the llamas....

Big O, Perhaps my responce was a bit strong that started this whole mess. That's the problem with the written word, they're just so black and white(lol) Anyway, don't go away. If you're going to go aweay anyway, don't go away mad. Peace.
