We've got one of those vicious guard dogs, too.

Thanks, but I'm already a couple over the limit (the one in - one out rule has been broken) I'm wondering when she will come down and do a count again, then the pressure will be on to sell a couple. My strategy right now is to keep the basement uncomforably cold, so she won't want to go there (; also to keep a couple in their cases.

Basements are good but they hang well in the UP also...must be something about northern Michigan. This one has yet to reproduce up there.

Hanging is Ok - stores have always done it. I like to case mine - keeps the dust off.

I keep the dust off mine by playing them extra hard.

That antler up there looks like it could hold a couple... (Is that an ol' Creek Chub over your head?)

Have started to attack the wall to hang the Hurcules attachments. Will have three on the wall - but its a big wall ;) lots of space left to fill.

My wife has been looking nervously over my shoulder at the fantastic collections some of you guys have - what was it 'one in, one out' :)

I would imagine the humidity is pretty high in Ireland. Before you hung all your guitars, I would check your indoor levels. I bought a low cost ($25) indoor device that checks temp and humidity and found that my house has the perfect, recommended temp and humidity levels. Now they're all going up on the wall.

The humidity is high in Ireland all year round. Will act on your recommendation. Thanks.

Excellent advice to follow, pasty. $25 vs how much for your guitars...?

Just do it.

(And that "one in, one out" rule is just a nasty rumor...)

If you want to hang 'em right though, you have to use special hangers designed expressly for Ovations.

I was cruising a local junk shop this week, looking for nothing in particular when the corner of this card caught my eye. Sitting all by itself amongst a completely unrelated bunch of glassware and knick knacks. Hadda have it.

Rich, the flute is probably okay company but nothing a guitar will want to create a deep enough relationship with. But give it time. The 1537 I bought a little over a year ago has since produced one hell of a family. .

Your place looks awesome, incidently. Is that a slab of pipestone? Very nice.

Otto,
Thanks. Actually not a flute but a wood back massager. There is no pipestone in the photo. The mantle is a pine log I notched out to fit over the supports and the rock and sill is of the "cultured stone" variety.
Johnny the lure above my head is one of those giant rapela's I picked up on ebay a few years back. "Firetiger" pattern was the hot one at that time. My wife rolled her eyes at that addition.

I actually prefer the String Swings, or most of them, because they come with a 1/4" threaded rod that expands the mounting appplication possibilities. Say, pastyp, there's a lot of other stuff you hang on the wall between the guitars while you're building your collection, like signs, banners, and all kinds of collectible crap. Try not to take it too seriously because the collectibles can become just as consuming as the guitars.

I've got an old twin bladed prop from an old 60's piper cub......Hmmmmm....might look good on the wall until I can fill it with Os :)

I like ol' propellers and ship helm wheels. Maybe old fashioned and dated... but so am I.

I like all things to do with avation, have a lot around the house - my other love besides music and guitars.

Thankfully the prop is in better condition than the cub it was originally attached to.

I hang mine for photos, then put them because my house is too dusty. Some sit on stands as well, seducing me to play with them:

My dogs guard all my guitars ... whereever they might be at the time. Henry sounds the alarm:

Rufus watches the house and car:

Then there's crazy-@ss Diesel, who routinely checks the attic and yard for possible suspects. He has been trained to bite the most delicate areas of possible home and/or guitar invaders and can silently make it to the fence/gate in six seconds flat. Can you?

Diego just patiently listens to me practice:

And Quincy does his part:

Thanks, Rich. I was fortunate to take her off of Old Man Arthur's hands a while back. Sounds as good as it looks.

Well when you have the kind of collection that you guys have - you need them protected :) Just noticed that I am now a member rather than junior member. Linked to the amount you post? Anyway great to be part of OFC, what ever about my early stupid mis behaviour :(
