Stop it, Moody. I'm having a tough time lusting after the guitar, but it's really wierd when you're in the picture. You always make the guitars look so small. If you're going to post a picture, could you just post one of the guitar?

Man, I am jonesing for mine to come off the line. This has been in the works for almost three years and the end is upon us. Big project for Al for 12 guitars ... thank for hanging in there Al through all the trials and tribulations.

Great shots Miles. Stunning. At least there's one good picture of Moody's. ;)

I think I'm going to change out the tuner buttons to the large size. I was looking at #54 and it has the bigger ones.

Bobbo, I think you're right. I never realized that but it seems that all original slotheads had the larger Schaller tuner buttons. I checked all the pictures I have, here is an example (slothead #31):

Paul, what does the label say? I got a pic from Tom showing the custom order form of #10 where it's described as "1187-847 with stereo electronics".

Sounds like it's lost. Anyone know a good PI? Sorry, Paul. I keep thinking you're rubbing it in, but you don't have it either.

Paul, my question regarding the label was answered by Jerome. He posted wonderful pics of your OFC guitar and also of the label:

To me it's a 1687-8 but I think they took the 1187 cause it's a offshoot of #47RI.

it's beautiful...but still to me it seems without any burst. Jerome's photos are so clear. There is no burst on the top...

The other think I noticed is the less glitter on the back, maybe the top too. The OFC adamas seems to have less glitter as compared to the 47RI...

I can tell you that the OFC guitar is very very close to Cliff's original #54!!
On some of my pictures, It's hard to say who is who... ;)
It's really a fantastic guitar.

It's very hard on the pictures to have the exact color of the top because it change with the light.
Just like for the #47-RI...

I can post 10 different pictures of my guitar, and they can all look different. Lighter, darker, blue-er, green-er, with a pronounced fade or not, more or less "glitter-ier". Digital cameras, light sources, camera/lighting angles, processing software, and individual monitors play a major part in how differently things can be perceived.

If the details, and the degree of burst are such a major factor, y'shoulda' made the trip . . like Jerome did.

Comparing Cliff's guitar to the OFC guitar, I think there's slightly less glitter on the top of the OFC guitar. The color and burst (or lack thereof) is about dead-nuts perfect. As to the glitter, who cares? The factory did a GREAT job on these and I, for one, am satisfied.

Two great guitars. On any level. No comparison necessary. And anyone would be very satisfied with either. I, for one, am very jealous of both.

Clifford's giving me a bad time on this guitar for the fun of it. He knows how much regard I have for his #54 (just not necessarily for HIM).....
