I've got an order in for the OFC guitar, but the thought of owning an original slothead.... oh well, it'll never happen.

The days when the orignal slotheads start changing hands, will be pretty exciting for sure.

This might be a stupid question.

Is the frequency resonance (99) on #47 the reason it is the "best of the best"?

Has the frequency resonance been documented on the "47 reissues?

Pardon my ignorance

Going back thru this thread, it's interesting to read the stories of the aquiring of the original slotheads. I know where one of them is that isn't listed here (for whatever reason, the owner hasn't made public that information). Any other new information?

I'm sure this is incomplete but here's what I got
changes from the original list of where they went:
31 Elias
33 Spyder in Japan
34 was in San Diago somewhere
35 cwk2
36 cwk2
37 Jean-Felix LaLanne
41 Michael Wong
42 soon to be identified
43 Elginacres
45 Cholloway
47 Ovation
49 Ovation
53 cwk2
54 Cliff
57 Sam

People, feel free to add or make corrections.

although I have had the opportunity to purchase a couple of slotheads they were with my dealer hat and not my collector's hat.
would i like to own an original?
sure
will it every happen?
never say never.

since my house project is coming to a close it may free up some funds for some other guitars for my personal use BUT i have a top secret ovation project in the works so it may take some time.
