The room got 25 degrees warmer and I swear I could smell lotion!

That was nice, good job Lanaki!

Inside is a signature worth 50 cents and a lot of mojo.

Wow. Just watched it twice and was highly impressed. Great job. I'm in the process of trying to figure out a way to take partial credit for it...hmmm...I'll tell my wife you're playing the song I wrote for her and that I accidentally left in the case when I shipped it. Ya, that's the ticket!

Vic,
i put a new set of 80/20 bronze elixir nanowebs light gauge on yesterday after placing another shim under the saddle. stellarjim had it setup very nice for standard tuning with the two shims but playing slack key (loosening a few strings) caused too much buzzing.
i recorded directly into the mini dv video recorder (sony dcr-hc20 cheapie!) with an added external hotshoe mic that does better for music. the guitar was amped with the marshall acoustic soloist as80r.

i am delighted so many have enjoyed the song. i should copyright it!

well jim, it looks as if we will have two women on our hands both thinkin' the song was written for them. as of yet, the song is untitled, but i am considering, "Makanani" (ma-ka-na-nee) which means beautiful eyes and describes my wife so well. (maka is eye(s) and nani means beautiful.)

It just pisses me off that someone could play for 3:30 minutes without missing a note once.Playing that long Lanaki you should of at least hit one wrong note for us.
Absolutly FANTASTIC !!! GWB

After listening to Lanaki's beautiful composition a few more times, the shimmering tones coming from from his open tuning with some chorus effect sounds a little like a hammer dulcimer.

Randy, I just got a chance to listen to this. Absolutely beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us!
You should consider doing a studio recording of this.

Very nice, Lunaki!!! The expression on you face really tells the story, but I do have to ask, Does the 1537 deliver what it is hyped to be?

Phil, you need to turn the volume "up" when you watch the video...

I am blessed with one myself, I just wanted to see if you can describe it in your own words ;)

I call it "mystical or magical" some call it "mojo" ...phil

hi phulmax :D
i am really loving the 1537. it is perfect for my fingerstyle of playing and the sound is exactly what i was hoping to find in an ovation instrument. this guitar has character, aka "mojo", and is very responsive. i have only three guitars on my wish list now: a UTE, a UTE 12 string or a 1688-5 12 string, and one of those mcpherson things.
i do play other styles of music that might be better on a UTE like country/bluegrass with a lot of hammer-ons and loud rhythm.
