Party like a Kennedy! That's too funny. History: When I grew up in Taxachusetts there was always a small picture of Geo. W and or abe Lincoln on the wall. The big portrait was JFK and you could usually spot RFK not too far away.

Robin Williams and Woody Harrelson are two brothers getting drunk on a bottle of tequila in a set of bunk beds. Williams (as he hands the bottle down from the top bunk): ". . D'ywanna 'nother drink?? . ." Harrelson (as he takes the bottle: ". . Does a Kennedy own a black dress?? . ."

Was waiting for the last minute to see if I could make it happen but it's not in the cards. Still have some health issues that dictate me staying put for a while. I know I'm going to be missing a bunch of fun, but the rest of you have a ball and stay safe... Take Care

Hopefully next time! re: booked up hotels... hmmm.. the biggest event I can think of that might be causing hotel probs is the Jen-Weld Tradition golf tournament that runs the 21st thru the 27th. Guess people could be coming in early for that. Etta James is playing at the Zoo on Friday the 18th, but as good as she is, I don't think she's filling hotels. err.. maybe it's the roller derby at the expo center! yeah, that's it!

Seems like a lot of Youth sporting events fill up the lower end of the market, then other folks migrate to the mid range motels. For what it is worth, I did get a reservation at the Fairfield in Lake Oswego (where I work), but I did book that last week.

I prefer, when possible, to buy leftover rooms at 9-10->? at night...it's amazing how much the value of a room drops between noon and 9PM. ...of course there are a few risks, like how many places you have to shop before you buy. But that just adds to the adventure!

Other than to make sure the drummer's dressed right for the gig.) dvd-thanks. that's a load off my mind! ;) :D (being a loud, friendly drunk...I DO give lessons)

Definitely some of that local Canadian beer :) , beverages, maybe some snack food. I'm going to grill up plenty of lamb and chicken kabobs. I'll have a package or two of hot dogs and a few pounds of hamburger. So the main "course" will be taken care of. fatveg is on his own :) Those that are local -- if you have some extra, guitar friendly, chairs that might be good. Space and seating may be a bit tight -- nothing we won't figure out though, i'm sure. It cools down at night so be sure to bring a jacket. Fleece is practically mandated in Portland. That should take care of the accommodations. As to the focus of the gathering, some random thoughts: Tabs of some of your repertoire would be nice. Someone earlier offered to put on a "class" on home recording. Not sure what would be good to have around to make that a more practical lesson. I'd like to learn about the electronic side of the electo/acoustics of Ovations -- i really don't have a clue. I've got so many different kinds of holes in my guitars that i have no idea what they are for, as an example. Cameras. ??? _____ gh1

We'll have to wing it without them. I may shoot some video and I'll bring my point-and-shoot digital as well. I thought Phil flew in for all that kind of thing! Gh1, I can throw in some chairs.. not sure how many.. depends on what car I drive, but I'll fit in as many as I can.

No biggie as I can't play sitting down anyway...But I'll bring the chair for when everyone tells me to sit down and shut up! (it happens,..., and I listen) Will also bring bongoes, dumbelek, and assorted shakers and tamborines...because after you've listened to African and Latin music you will believe... you just can'thave too much percussion!

I'm one block off a commercial strip -- bars, restaurants, coffee houses, shops, etc and those that visit them will be competing for parking. You may end up a block or two away. I do have sort of a driveway, it's small and narrow, that we'll keep open for unloading. _____ gh1

You can see the two skylights into my kitchen. The drive is to the right of that. "the yellow zone is for the loa..." What is the official show up time? I have been shopping Craigslist Portland for deals on soaking tubs and may be making a loaded run home. Also, note the yellowish splotch filling the interstection. A bunch of local "hippies" painted it with a sunflower design. That's the intersection of 33rd & Yamhill. Official show up time is 1:00 PM. But, if your traveling -- just come by whenever. Don't want you roaming the streets of Portland, now do we? _____ gh1

She has a great singing voice but is a little shy. I can also leave her at home, or send her out shopping (always dangerous!). Can someone post the address again so I can google directions coming from the north. Thanks!
