Oh well, I'm workin' on something else anyway.

Congrats!
Thanks Patch - I'm working on the more dangerous - buy one, then try and sell one - theory. If you don't hear from me after next week, you'll know why.

No fair - you can't pile on +1 to a quote that says nothing !!! I protest.

Back to the point, I'm pretty satisfied right now with the collection. Actually I have 3 that need new homes. I even deleted my saved Ovation ebay search. I figured anything interesting would be linked over here anyway.

Yes I can. What three need new homes?

"The Ol' Trader" and others might be interested.

Judging by the prices I've seen some great guitars go for, it is a buyers market.

The long range plan is to give my 87 Collector to my daughter when she turns 25 in 4 years and replace it with another or a Book Elite. Will you guys with the Books just wait for awhile?
There might be a few short range purchases that interfere with that, like a 97 Collector. That's something different from what I have.

Dave, so you are finally selling the book.
Hard to believe I sold mine over 2 years ago.

Guys, someone should jump on that Book Elite.
Work something out with Dave!

I've also got 3 that are gonna be going on the block real soon.

Taylor DDSM
Martin 000-28NB Norman Blake Special Edition
Collings C-10 Sunburst Deep Body

These are the "worst" of the best of my remaining guitars which is a damn scary thought because they are awesome sounding and playing guitars.

Selling the Taylor for the money (only Taylor I have ever played that I thought was worth a shit)
Selling the Martin cause I just never bonded even tho it plays and sounds wonderful
Selling the Collings cause I got an custom built sunburst Collings OM due in less than 2 months.

If I was a traveling musician, I think I could do it all with four guitars: my new Monoco III custom, either the Adamas 1881 or 1547 prototype SSB, the Tak 75, and the VXT custom (as a backup). Fortunately, since I'm not a traveling musician, I will never have to make such a restrictive decision.

You all saw my short list and those into this kind of stuff know how hard they are to find.
I was talking with Caleb (of Balsam Range) and he knows of three in the local area here! We'll have fun seeing how this turns out.

ProfBB,

Did you see the SSB 1987 Collectors on the 'Bay? That would be close to the 1547 SSB.

Blues

EDIT: Just checked. It ended @ $900.00!

1987C SSB (Kinda Sorta)

Blues, yes I did see it, but I'm o.k. right now with the three SSBs in the rotation. I'd consider another 1881, but they're rare. I think I'm pretty fixed for the moment, although I might wander over and take a peek at some things that Stephen is laying out in his yard sale.
