Except for a deep bowl, 2 knobber, and I've never seen Al in a suit. Al has them on ebay for more than he's asking here, so these are a deal. Nothing sounds quite like a deep bowl Adamas. If I didn't already have 3, I'd be considering this more seriously.

Congrats, Damon. I'm working on one as well. I just hope that one's still there by the time I can get there.

Damon, you're gonna like this guitar. It'll be interesting to see which you like better, the 1581 or your 2080 (do you still have it?).....

I still have the ad from 2005 when these came out. It was the only thing the our local GC had with Adamas on it. I really looked hard at the 1687 RI, but it seemed redundant after I got the OFC. For a guy who actually knows how to play those high notes up the neck like Damon does, the 1581 should be great. I guess I won't feel sorry that Damon won't get to try out my 2010 Collector this weekend.
Can anybody Photoshop a double breasted suit onto one of Al's pictures? Probably not possible.

I'm interested too. I love my 2080 (especially after the MS did some work on her), but sometimes I miss the simplicity of a tone/volume setup.

I actually really need to do some more experimentation with the settings on the VIP, but who needs to experiment with a single tone knob? Nobody.

Plug and play

Pinstriped DB suit . . . maybe 40 years ago.
Red pullover sweater and pinstiped button down collar shirt from Lands End . . . not likely.
Green t-shirt with some form of graphic on the front . . . pure Al.

Have they shipped yet? If a friend of mine really likes it he may want to order one for himself before they're gone.

Thanks Al. My friend Jeff is still trying to figure out exactly what he wants in an Adamas, but I told him today that they are going to be custom shop only from now on. I think he'll probably go for one of these, but he wants to see/hear/play one before he makes the decision. (He'd be a fool not to jump on this!)

Congrats to those of you who have snagged one already. Regrets to those of you who don't. Accolades to Al for offering such a great deal to the club members.

Alison, was he there at your jam? He could've tried mine.

Just wait until Damon gives his the red carpet treatment. I was going to post some more photos of mine, then thought better of it. Damon is a pro and will make this guitar look fantastic, even though to my eye, its not a real looker. One strange comment I've received on numerous occasions about the 1581 (and 1881 for that matter) and its flat black cross-weave top is "From a distance, I thought your guitar was covered in leather." Another plus . . . it has a glossed neck!

He was only here for a few minutes. Had to work most of the weekend.

I just checked the tracking number Al sent me. It'll be here Monday. It's going to be a L-O-N-G weekend!

Nice! Are these full eppies or bass side only?
