Al has them on ebay for more than he's asking here, so these are a deal. Nothing sounds quite like a deep bowl Adamas. If I didn't already have 3, I'd be considering this more seriously.So... Just like the one in ProfessorBB's picture above then.

I really looked hard at the 1687 RI, but it seemed redundant after I got the OFC. For a guy who actually knows how to play those high notes up the neck like Damon does, the 1581 should be great. I guess I won't feel sorry that Damon won't get to try out my 2010 Collector this weekend. Can anybody Photoshop a double breasted suit onto one of Al's pictures? Probably not possible.

I actually really need to do some more experimentation with the settings on the VIP, but who needs to experiment with a single tone knob? Nobody. Plug and play

My friend Jeff is still trying to figure out exactly what he wants in an Adamas, but I told him today that they are going to be custom shop only from now on. I think he'll probably go for one of these, but he wants to see/hear/play one before he makes the decision. (He'd be a fool not to jump on this!)

I was going to post some more photos of mine, then thought better of it. Damon is a pro and will make this guitar look fantastic, even though to my eye, its not a real looker. One strange comment I've received on numerous occasions about the 1581 (and 1881 for that matter) and its flat black cross-weave top is "From a distance, I thought your guitar was covered in leather." Another plus . . . it has a glossed neck!

I just checked the tracking number Al sent me. It'll be here Monday. It's going to be a L-O-N-G weekend!
