You played one (Bill's) at my house last month . . .
I'm curious what the 2080 version baritone 12 will sound like.

Dave, it would be just like mine except that ity will have a little less #@#@$ but more &*^ to make up for it.
Frankly I think that many strings tuned that low get too many frequencys moving at once. Bari 6s are fine, I think 12s are too much. But Hey, what the hell does a gas station guy know?

Sorry, . . . I don't know HOW it was that I mis-read that . . . :p

The LongNeck deep-bowl Adamas-12 sounds AWESOME!
I agree with Bill in that there ARE a lotta' things going on at once, and it does have the potential t'sound a bit muddy if not played right, but for picking out melodies or playing arpeggiated chords, it's like having a baby grand strapped to your chest. I LOVE playing it!!

I usually keep the 12 tuned to D, as when you start going lower the harmony strings get a bit "rattly". I've got D'Add EJ38's (Lights) on it. Probably could go heavier and get a lower tuning, but I like it at D (or sometimes a Double-Drop C) and cahpo-up to play with the band. If I need t'go lower, I'll switch to the 6 with Heavy strings.

Cliff, you didn't misread it. I was was not specific enough in my question. Anyway, I thought that the regular Adamas baritone was a bit "over the top" for strumming cowboy chords. Almost too much of a good thing. No doubt picking out melodies would be a great sound. Was wondering if the 2080 might have tamed it down just a tad. But it would be impossible for Stephen to say, I guess because he would have to A/B the 2080D12 and AdamasD12 side by side. Dave

Al, I simply posted a link to the thread in which you officially suspended a 3 year member. Other than claiming he "harassed and ridiculed" you and he "attacked and harassed the administrator" you didn't give any details.

There's no way I could explain it given those vague accusations. As for what I 'think' happened, it would be improper and presumptuous for me to go into that here, as I have only heard one side of the story.

In truth, the details are unimportant to me compared to the fact that a member in good standing, who has made nearly 6000 helpful and informative posts, was summarily suspended publicly with no opportunity to respond to the accusations.

Stephen

I have reconsidered. You are worth my time. In fact, as all members here are.

Please take this as formal notice of a pending 30 day suspension of your priviledges here. After the 30 day period you can send an e mail requesting that your account be reactivated.

I am very tired of playing word games, correcting posted mis information and ultimately being harassed and ridiculed by your ilk.

My suggestion is to find another message baord where you can attack and harass the administrator.

have a great day.
Your words Al, not mine.

I strongly suggest you look up the words "notice" and "pending" before you jump to any ill conclusions.

Notice: A formal announcement, notification, or warning, especially an announcement of one's intention to withdraw from an agreement.

Pending: Imminent, about to happen.

If Stephent28 chose to leave this forum, it's a shame, but I could see why he would.

I had a dream the night before last that I was playing a dark brown sunburst Ultra 12-string (yeah, WTF is up with that!?). No matter what I did, even down to focusing on putting one finger on one course on one fret, I could not get the thing to sound notes cleanly. It sounded muffled, yet thin at the same time, and the notes that did come out decayed almost as soon as they were sounded.

I'm not a big believer in the 'hidden meaning of dreams' but I think that one was sending me a pretty clear message...stop drinking cheap Canadian beer masquerading as cheap Australian beer (yes, Foster's in Michigan is brewed/bottled in Canada).

I once drank tap water in Belarus...spent 3 days in the hospital with amebic dysentery when I returned home...(I'd say no #@*% here but it is too poignant to remember)...
Blessings...

It (Foster's, not Belarus tap water) is not one of my favorites. But, when you're given a case of the stuff, you have to get rid of it somehow. I like to do the fake "Outback Steakhouse Australian voiceover guy" voice when I open one and say, "Fawstuh's....Can-aye-gin fo-uh bee-uh." It adds a little something to the experience.

You just landed yourself in that broad classification I like to call "other people", mister. As in, "The world would be a great place....if it weren't for all these other people!" :p

If stephen is not posting it is currently his choice.
Having been dragged out in front of the class by teacher, given a public spanking and then had it confirmed by the Principal, I doubt any of us would be posting.

This all seemed outrageous and vindictive to me in the first place, but the deafening silence from Stephen's "friends" and the fact that it was suggested to me that there might be history here meant that I just let it go. But this jumping in on the defensive like someone was poking your eyeball just makes the original act look like I thought it was.

Life is just way too short to spend it feuding over minor stuff. As Beal once said (and I paraphrase) "Life, death, and guitars are the big things. Everything else is just minor stuff"

I got too many guitar licks that need to be learned (shut up Cliff) to spend my time worrying about feuding.

That's my opinion and it should be yours too....
