Thanks for the reply Lunaki, my 1537 looks like yours, and is a dream to play.

Now if only I could play like you!!! You should post more stuff! phil

aloha professor,
i use a brushing technique with my index finger which you can hear behind the melody notes and also do this percussive thing using a sharp downstroke with the fingernail of my middle finger from time to time. this does give it a dulcimer feel as you mentioned. what does not come through the video real well is the bass notes being played with the thumb. you can hear them but no where near as loud and clear as live.

"lunaki" reminds me of lunacy. like "phulmax" reminds me of being full to the max.

Lanaki, I think everybody has said it already, Very Nicely Done! I just have one question, what is that you keep glancing over and looking at? The pot of spaghetti or the kids? :D

rick,
actually, i was looking out the window in anticipation of my 4 grandkids being delivered to me by their mom so i could babysit them a few hours. they were due any moment and i wanted to tape the song before they arrived. no way was it gonna happen after! the pot of spaghetti was simmering and my girls were being babysat by barney as i was recording.

Tip #1: Place the monitor near or behind the video camera.

You know what's good for zits? Lots of pork.

Great job, Randy. I really enjoyed it. I'm just glad to know people who can play that well.

Lanaki, if I may be so presumptuous as to speak on behalf of the entire OFC, thanks for joining our group and being so willing to share your talent with us.

Ah, as usual I'm a few posts behind. Good reasons to be looking out the window. Nice work completing the song with potential distractions!

You have little kids, grandkids, hair to comb and zits. What are you a teenage grandfather?

GWB, in reality i messed up a few times during that clip. the first time is when i smirk and wipe my finger on my pants. since i am still getting used to the narrow necks on my adamas and this guitar, i do not hit some of the notes plainly and i can hear strings rattling agains my fingernails. those are the things that just add color/character to the music though, like string friction. some folks are very technical, clean players. i ain't one. mahalo, GWB.

paul simon is a clean player. never rattles or buzzes a string, even in live performances.
