Watch out for speeding tickets. I heard they upped the fines again. They will probably make a bunch of money off the Porsche Club. I'm thinking about hauling a couple over as my Boxster passengers and leaving them for a couple weeks. I'll have a fairly empty SUV on the way back.

If Fred brings his Ute, I won't have to get one!

If you're thinking I'm getting a Ute, you're right. This will be a very difficult packing job to haul all my daughter's stuff over to Portland and decide which guitars to leave home.

Will ther be a bass-friendly amp at the event? Y'just can't have too much bottom end...when you're looking for the Brown Sound :-)

Who needs an amp? Am I going to have to learn to play the Ultra GS between now and then?

I will bring a Peavey KB300 amp. It's old but not as heavy as the Roland.

So, Mark, did I see you are going to bring your daughter along? Should I add her to the RSVP list? We may need to draw up a document releasing all member liabilities for being a bad influence on her.

Although it's not definite, she said she would like to come. Then I'll have a designated driver. We have lots of logistics to work out yet. Don't even attempt to draft a release. The only way I couldn't figure out a way to get around it is if I drafted it myself.
Has anyone attempted to contact Pokeypup, MisterGolf, edensharverst or a few others in the area to see if they are interested? I noticed that you can search profiles by location and possibly could pm or email them as a group.
It just occurred to me that I might not be able to my Molson beer drinking story with my daughter there.

It's not an offensive story to anyone but me. My daughter's probably heard it, so I'll tell it whether she's there or not. All I need is a Molson or other Canadian beer or maybe just a Canadian to remind me. On second thought, skip the Canadian and just supply the beer.

Consider it done!

Your daughters presence may even help provide an element of decorum through restraint, that by the end of the night we may appreciate, or more probably, the next morning. ;)

I figured the occasional unintentional, of course! bump of this topic to the top of the list should catch any stragglers who might want to join in. But we've certainly got a quorem and we don't want to have to rent an ampitheatre, so I wasn't going to beat the bushes too much.

If people are planning on bringing spouses/offspring/guests, please speak up so we don't surprise Gh1 or his wife too much, and so we don't run out of supplies before we run out of energy. :)

Hey guys - glad to hear about the clan meeting...

I'd love to come, but Saturdays for me are just about impossible during the summer (darn day job :D ). Major bummer, as I should be getting my C759LX-Koa by then... :( If something miraculous happens in the next few days, I'll be sure to let you know.

Just to keep up, we've moved, and now live about two minutes from the greatest bed of depravity and social illness in Washington (yes, we're in the capital). When I start getting more than four hours of sleep again I'll get back in the chat...

Yeah, yeah...I got it.
I've been on the road (sales, not music :( ) so haven't been keeping up on the gossip.

Will bring a small (?) assortment of canadian beers.

Remind me to tell the Canadian beer story before I have too many, or I'll forget it.
I'll actually have to watch myself. Mom's birthday party is that evening. It may be over in time to head back to gh1's. I don't expect the 80 year olds to go too late into the night.

Do you have favourite Canadian beers? Or should I just try and surprise you?

Have you tried Maudite?

Although I appreciate the thought, don't do anything special for me. I'm not at all fussy when it comes to beer. The Maudite looks like it's a lot more potent than what I usually drink. My tastes in beer were probably ruined from the start. I lived in Kansas, where we had to drink "3.2" beer until we turned 21. Coors was the local favorite.
Besides all that, I really need to watch my consumption. The plan is formulating that I will play and sing for my Mom's 80th birthday party that evening.

It's still weaker than wine...but okay.

After your Canadian beer story, I'll tell the one about the three Americans who tried to drink an Englishman & I under the table in New Paltz, NY.

Using American beer!

I had lots of beer drinking stories, but age has dulled the memory and I'd rather not have my daughter hear some of them. She's a much better kid than I was.

MWoody, did you ever get your lodging and spa stuff sorted out? What did you decide? Anybody else need any advice or pointers on lodging or things to do?

Yeah, I'd like something pretty close to the event, in case we end up cabbing it. (though wife is >usually< a pretty good, and willing, DD. and this would be a qualifying event.)
